The mighty Priest! these guys are, and always have been the greatest metal band ever, they have no competition, they didnt destroy themselves with drugs, sex and alcohol because they were stronger than those things, all these years later they are still flawless, Halford is Immortal, when I was a kid people dissed me for being black and loving heavy metal. I laughed at them and still do all hail the mighty priest!

@@hathiagirard4012 well, I love Maiden as well but Scott Travis is a really good drummer and Tipton is a hell of guitarist. It iw hard to compare him with Adrian Smith, but he is surely better than Dave Murray and Janick Gers. And I have to say that Priest’s career has been much more solid and consistent and their sound evolved accordingly and still sounds fresh. Not the same for Maiden, whose last albums are pretty mediocre and uninspired

His intro vocals are amazing, spine chilling. He can’t hit the notes he did when they recorded this in ‘87-88, so he instead goes into his lower arsenal and man, what a performance. Proves again why he’s the Metal God.

Honestly he gets pretty damn close to the same highs as in the recorded version. I think the notes here are F5 (at least E5) and the ones in the studio are G5 or maybe A5 at the highest. So basically the same. He’s one of the best singers ever.

On my side on the contrary, sadly it is more of a disappointment. Not that I blame Rob... Man... he is old, he should not sing that specific song. For me all the chills comes from these constant alternates between lows and highs in the original album version. The first time I listened to the introduction of this song, heard this very soft low end voice, for half a verse, and then pop out his huge crystal high pitch voice in the other half of the verse. I was kinda wooooo... I think it was the first time I could hear an angel sing in a metal band. I do not dare to take a a look at how he would sing painkiller nowadays, it would break my dreams. Damn, aging is rough, on me included ^^

It sounds like the crowd appreciated his solo. He's a great addition to the band, always interacting with the crowd, and he always seems to be doing stuff online - gear talks, guitar clinics and jams, always seeming humble and talented.

I knew Richie before he was famous, not only was he an extremely talented musician but he worked hard to get where he is now, non stop. Also, to top it all off, he really is a genuinely nice guy and deserves the success he has. I was so happy for him when he did the Lauren Harris thing and this too, a perfect example of good guy's not finishing last.

Ritchie really plays these songs great. Adds his own flair to them which in my opinion adds a new dimension to them. its like hearing them for the first time all over again!
