Undoubtedly in the top ten of all time great Priest songs. Criminally underrated, and one that I'd like to see them dust off and bring back into the setlist--at least once.

Wow. All this, without auto tune. Rob has an amazing voice, and amazing tonal control, to be able to jump several octaves like that. 3:22 made the hair on my arms stand on end, and gave me goosebumps everywhere. Like I was plugged into electricity. Incredible.

I saw them on this 1984 tour in San Diego; 60 years old and still a Priest fan. I saw them again last year and I'd like to see their last tour but I don't think it'd be quite the same without K.K.

The part 1:57 where he sings “as the lights start to dim and the fear closes in” is one of the most magical moments from Priest in my opinion. The music, the lyrics, Halford’s voice and theatrics, the mist and the lights fit so perfectly! This track is such a lost opportunity that I get a bit sad.

Personally i Think that it's best when musicians write songs that come straight from the heart. And that's what i like about Rob Halford he sang what he felt and what he lived all the those bad memories and the bad life and the hard test you have to go through before you have a band and get famous. Rock On Judas Priest

I was at this absolutely incredible concert in Montreal - about 15 rows back on the floor (they had seats on the floor). Probably my favourite of the many concerts that I've been to, and I've seen the Priest over a dozen times. Ol' Bobby was in prime form, as was the rest of the band. My friends and I even got to meet the lads after the show. I've seen MANY concerts, many diverse styles of music, and most of my favourite bands several times, but NOBODY brings it live like The PRIEST! I can't wait to see them again in March 2018!

@Mr1Tanker5 жыл бұрын
@@jeffreywarme8594 I had tickets for the Toronto show which is usually right before or after Montreal (Great White opened) in March 84, then i wiped out on my motorcycle a week before and was in the hospital for a month with a broken ankle. Had to miss the concert, and gave my friend, who was going with me, my ticket. I got to see them in Toronto for the Turbo tour, but wished the hell i'd seen this one! :/ BTW... would loved to have seen Saxon!

The best tour was this one. 1984. I saw it a Madison Square Garden! They got banned for life that night. Because us fans, ripped every single foam seat cushion out of the denim material, and then flung them about the arena. And on stage too! This is how we showed our appreciation for a kick-ass show! True story. June 1984.

One of the greatest hard rock or heavy metal songs of all times, and one of the best live performance lead vocals ever! Rob Halford of Judas Priest and Dan McCafferty of Nazareth are individually incomparable, and both bands should have been inducted into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame decades ago for their influence.

I agree mate, I bought Screaming For Vengeance at the same time, and for some reason just listened to that more. Defenders truly is AWESOME. This song is great, I also really like Heavy Duty/DOTF, even tracks like Jawbreaker, I didn't appreciate until a few listens. British Steel was pretty class, Point of Entry had a few good tracks, Screaming for Vengeance is a good no nonsense rocker, and Defenders experimented, and yet really lived up to the other stuf as well. Class album

Imagine Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, alone. His followers are gone or asleep. Imagine what it was like. The "night" was coming down! Jesus praying there, and coming to grips with his impending doom! As he was soon to be tortured and crucified by his enemies. I think this song captures that feeling to a certain extent.
