Sworn to avenge CONDEMN TO HELL!!!! You can literally feel the energy of the concert even though the recording's bad quality. Amazing performace.

Halford is a class act and one of the best rock singers EVER. Period.

I love Dio so much, he's one of the greatest to ever do it, with amazing lyrics, but Halford is in a class of his own.

Likewise! Like Live Vengeance (1982), if THIS (1984) show was professionally shot/recorded, Priest should release this show, as well!

Powerslave was my first concert, then Triumph Thunder Seven, then Priest's Turbo tour all within a year! Dio in '88 with a few in between. Was fortunate enough to see many of my favorite bands in their prime years! Then, in the late 2000's, my DREAM concert - Ronnie James Dio with Sabbath doing the Heaven And Hell tour - TWICE! And too boot, the one time was with Priest!

Actually Defenders of the Faith went Platinum in the U.S The Sentinel is certainly one of my top 5 priest tunes. Simply killer leads and vocals throughout!

Even though he goes flat a few times, this is still one of the greatest live vocal performances ever in rock or metal.

i love Priest and Defenders Of The Faith is the best album that Priest have ever made....and the "Metal Conqueror", the tour in support of the album, was one of the most important tour in the metal history, more than "The Painkiller World Tour" or other tour from other metal band
@LoganFK3 жыл бұрын
Old comment mate, but this tour and the painkiller tour are my two favorite priest tours of all time and I’ve see videos from all’s unfortunately I was born in the 21st century so I’ve only seen priest once. This year on the 50 heavy metal years tour, they are all still mine blowing; even though KK and Glenn have been replaced by Faulkner and Sneap. They both do them justice. Scott is and excellent drummer too. Ian hill is still there of course and rob has all of his range, just aged like a fine wine. You can bring up zeppelin and sabbath all day, among any other bands, but Priest will forever be my favorite. Legends.

Good quality audio/video footage from this Quebec show. Took the lead-singer from a band I managed ( they did a ton of Priest ) to the show at MLG in Toronto for this tour. Incredible show, Metal with conviction and integrity. This song & Beyond the Realms of Death, two of the under-appreciated Priest anthems of their middle period, both require incredible vocal and diaphragm control. First saw Priest in 400 seat El Mocambo, 75-76?,with concert P.A.!!! wish I had a bootleg of that ear-bleeder!!!

They reached exactly the real and unique heavy metal sound, they definively fixed it. Their albums have All been beautiful, even rocka rolla, but during Halford era. My favourite live is Unleashed in the east, my favourite studio album is British Steel....lots of favourite songs...the ripper, the green manalishi, breakin'..., livin'....,

@strogaa15 жыл бұрын
K.K.Downing was a big fan of Cream (with Eric Clapton) and stuff like that. Sure, Priest were influenced by Sabbath (like most Metalbands) but always headed for own identity. There's no album, that could be called a "copy" of any other. That is what Priest always made a special band for me. Metal would not be the same without the "pioneer-work" of them, and without Sabbath it would probably not have born.
@MetalSchlicht13 жыл бұрын
@sickspastic Agreed.Here's my favorites..1.Unleashed in the East 2.British Steel 3.Hell Bent For Leather 4.Screaming for Vengence 5.Defenders.

@timothydfrank1991 Hey, I really like that album, but some of those songs were left over from the balked Twin Turbos album or Turbo. A tiny bit commercial. Hard as Iron is fithy speed metal, double lead guitar assault, that I love!

I noticed this concert vid has been viewed the most. Not sure why though.

I have to say, those bands would be amazingly humbled in light of Judas Priest. I saw Priest when Iron Maiden opened for them during Screaming For Vegeance and Maiden was supporting Number of The Beast. Slipknot....??? okay........ :)
@MisterShalashaska15 жыл бұрын

So the title of the iron Maiden song explains it all right?! ; ) or it should be Judas be my inspiration?

Acutally, it´s hard to tell what would have happend to Metal without Priest. I think there would be no glam bands, no nwobh bands and no speed metal bands. No Sabbath after 79 (when Ozzy got kicked) even tho it´s another typ of music Sabbath plays. Priest made all thoose old metal bands popular again. Without Priest there would just be a bounch of punkfuckers around at the 80´s XDD

This is definitely one of JP's BETTER songs from the 80's.... they were already starting to go downhill lyrically.....but this one has good lyrics that reminds me of stuff from Sad Wings of Destiny, Sin After Sin or Stained Class. I like those songs that make you imagine what Rob is singing about....when it's about mythical figures.

That early british style was great! But then Hell Bent turned them into Metal Maniacs and the True Priest was born! Glad they started the way they did, but real glad they became the Best Metal Band Ever!

Priest didn´t drew influence from sabbath, more from zeppelin and purple I think. But yeah, Sabbath rules =) Without Priest Sabbath would be nothing, because Prriest brought Metal back to life when they came out, it would have died without Priest.

The Dio-era was the best imo, Sabbath was just so much better than with Ozzy. Dio has so much more power in his voice and he suits Sabbath much better. Songs like "Heaven and Hell" and "Mob Rules" is far better than "Paranoid" or "Iron Man" imo. The Gillan and Glenn Hughes time was a downtime imo. Now they're back with Dio again, and that´s really nice =) But Sabbath with Ozzy will always the most popular ^.^

I saw them in 84 and they were ok, just ok. I have seen many, many, many bands in small bar gigs to the huge Monsters of Rock stuff and the best bands live are: Metallica (pre 93), Pearl Jam (pre Ticketmasters) AC DC (anytime) WHY? it is the crowd and videos can not capture the crowd or its emotions well
