We just need a steady back 3 and better goalie ... then play with rice as a sweeper, bellingham and foden in the middle, and on the wings, saka and gordon. Kane up front, and palmer backing him up, freely darting around the box causing mayhem. Tell them to run their asses off for 45 mins, then bring off the most tired 2 for Bowen and Mainoo. That's a team that walks the Euros, but Southgate would never have the balls - he will have an extra defender and the 'always going backwards' Henderson.

Otherwise you would understand that it cannot be deflection when he is the first one to point out his own miss. That would be humility. He then followed that with an honest assessment of the teams chances. Something a natural leader would do. Or should we all tell each other that we’re perfect and don’t need to work on anything? Kind of a medal for every participant situation?
