He played this role so well that when his character was no longer on the screen, you actually felt the loss. Idk how many people could have had that same effect. Matt Damon played Tom Ripley so well that you felt from him that he was so enamoured by Dickie that he actually felt the loss too. He didn’t feel much until he met Dickie.

LOVE Jude Law's "Dickie Greenleaf"! Just couldn't take my eyes off him. Such magnetism and sense of freedom.
@nanny2874 ай бұрын
Jude Law initially rejected this role, not wanting to be stereotyped as the “pretty boy,“ (very much like Robert Redford’s philosophy when choosing film roles), but he WAS Dickie Greenleaf, and gave us an excellent well-developed characterization that will never be forgotten. I loved everything about the film, including the “vile” jazz club as Marge describes Dickie’s favorite, but I’m with the guy’s on this point as a jazz fiend and loved the clubs and the music. It made me want to run off to Italy; I still might. 🇮🇹🎶 ❤🎶🇮🇹

Dude watching the new ripley series while it is closer to the book, this version of Dickie just really makes you envious of him like Tom is (and of course the movie had compelling actors everywhere while the series sometimes felt disinterested) The way Dickie also switched 180 degrees when he got bored of Tom…man I would bludgeon him too 😂😂😂

Jude Law would of played a better Tom Ripley and Matt Damon would of been a good Dickie Greenleaf.

Nah mate. I know lots of people with heaps of money and no one wants to be around them. You have to have a personality, even if you're not wealthy people will gravitate towards that.
