@@shakaama and a lot of people like to hook them up for racing or car shows. They put lowering kits or lift kits on them, add super chargers or turbos, add nitrous tanks, throw in a big or small block engine. It's also popular a lot of the time on the west coast to add hydraulic system to them. Not to mention most trucks hold their value or even appreciate in value, so trucks are almost always a good investment for resale value, even newer trucks today, especially desiel because they can last a few hundred thousand more miles than a gasoline one.

@thegoodfight8316
@thegoodfight8316 Жыл бұрын
@@m42037 you have that backwards. Antique cars are normally 20 years or older.(some states are more along 25 years) That’s the car age to register an antique car in most states anyway. Car enthusiast normally say an antique car has to be over 40 years old tho. A vintage car is normally much older. While you can of course consider a 1922 Ford an antique it would be given the greater distinction as a vintage car. You took the time to point out the opposite of what is actually true… to say a car has to be 100 years old to be antique tells me you know really nothing about it yet took the time to post like an expert🤦

The reason that the square body trucks are so popular is because there's so much you could do for them. They can handle being slammed to the ground as a lowrider or lifted up 15 ft high. They are built as trucks and not like new trucks that we have today. Only problem with them is the metal that general motors use to create these trucks was so poor that most of these trucks are rotted away.

And this is why you don't ever ''barter'' ! If someone does a job for you then you pay them for the job. If they want to buy something from you then they pay you for it. Two completely separate transactions. You don't confuse things by ''knocking one amount off the other''.

Old car values are weird. When trying to insure a 66' Mustang through my regular insurance they said they'd cover it for like $800 as that was the "book value". When going through a collector car insurance it recommend $15k-$40k in coverage, so I jumped on this as it was comparable pricing to the $800 coverage. A classic cars value is really what someone will pay for it. I mean I could sit here all day and say I have a $40,000 mustang, but if no one agrees to pay that much for it, is that really the value? It's a lot easier to value something when the most recent retail sale wasn't over 50 years ago.

The worth of the vehicle is what the buyer is willing to pay for it. Just because it has a value in the blue book doesn’t mean that’s what it will sell for. The owners also put a price on it no matter what the value of the blue book says

Since COVID, those trucks can go for $30,000 in the right shape. Even 90’s Chevy trucks are going for anywhere between $8,000-$20,000. Judge Judy simply does not understand the market.

oddly its 2 things, 1 is nostalgia, the other is cutting cost. This is the last year series of a true truck. Trucks and tractors have always been serviceable. Thats why you see tractors from the 30's still being used, they are designed to be serviced. The newer trucks are not serviceable, they do not have grease fittings, and the drivetrains are built buy the lowest bidder in design and parts. The older trucks have grease fittings on all moving parts, as well as a standard engine and drivetrain shared for almost 40 years so parts are still a huge market and are still in stock. this chevy, although really old, can be serviced to new condition with very minimal costs. the late 80's silverado package added comfort, like power windows, ac, tilt steering, and more modern amenities

You can't really go by kelly blue book value, they could have car listed as $700 but worth way more or a truck worth $1,500 as $8,000. It just depends what they are going for in your area and what people are willing to spend.
