Watching DC over the years gave me the energy to finally separate from my husband. Her words about toxic relationships and what it does to the children resonates in my soul. As someone that was the kid in this type of situation I can tell you that it really only matters that you got out. Having my mom take me out is the main thing I remember and hold on to out of it all. Getting out was what mattered in our relationship afterwards

Losing 19 was deep! I work with the juvenile offender pop., and witnessed the "I don't care" mentality the young men have. They roll in and out of detention like it's summer camp, and shrug their shoulders at cautions of entering the adult prison system. Two common denominators: these streets, and no fathers to teach them to be men.

Personal favorite: When that dude said he doesn’t want to get a job because if he does then he would have to pay bill. The judge torched him and then got on his gf because she allowed herself to be installed in the house as a baby-taking care of, buying studio time, buying game boy, having sex whenever he wants appliance. That stayed with me.

Watching DC made me seek help to get out of a toxic relationship. Her wisdom gave me currage and stop doping for others and neglecting myself. I left a depressed addict and began a life of joy and strength. He’s still an addict and I’m still happy, safe and free. I’m in another relationship now, and I have an amazing partner. I’ll miss Lynn Toler, but I’m also forever grateful.
