Adopted kids deal with a lot of various traumas. Anything from things like fetal alcohol syndrome, living with their bio parents for a while before getting into the system, or just trauma from the bad things that often happen in the foster system. I've had a number of friends that were adopted at various stages of their life and even the ones that were adopted as toddlers still deal with issues stemming from their bio parents. It's complex to say the least.

Joe Whitehead children of addicts (trauma), who have been abandoned (trauma), in this case mother was in prison. And mother was killed (trauma, wanting a mother and not having questions answered, love, etc). You hate the world, you think you cant trust, that your fate is just a bunch of dumb luck. You survive day to day looking for instant gratification everywhere you go. Theres a lot more to it but...its deep

I’ve grown up in the US and that’s very much not true. I think we tend to be portrayed worse in media for dramatic effect. I do know people like her, but there’s always people suffering and not knowing how to handle it across the world. She’s just in a lot of pain. I’m glad you never experienced that to this degree. i’m lucky to have great parents, so I was sheltered from this fate.

No, a TV show. But it takes some real life events sometimes, and puts them in the show.

This female cop is kinda bad at acting. She is very cold.

That doesn’t indicate bad acting though….some characters are going to be colder than others
