As bad as I feel for the plaintiff, JJ has a point. If the defendant's dogs got through the fence before and attacked his dogs a previous time, and he didn't take adequate steps after that to prevent it from happening again, then he should be at least 50% responsible for the vet bills. It's harsh, but if you know this has happened before, if it happens again, that's partially on you.

At least the plaintiff acknowledged that they had fault.

I don’t believe in Shared Fences, especially, when pets and children are involved. Secure your OWN posts and build your OWN fences…no problem, no mess, no issue

That should be property code, especially in these cardboard developments where you have a 3600 square foot billion dollar house and 1200 square foot of yard.
@ednaatluxton49183 сағат бұрын
An old man living there many years before her and her big dogs, never had to worry before she moved in. She should have built a fence on her property when she moved in with big dogs before she decided to let her dogs run free in her yard that was unfenced. She had no right to use his fence

Gotta give credit to the animal control officer. The officer probably baited the dog just a little to see if the dog would break through the fence. Then when the dog did break through, evidence gathered!

Judge Judy is so naive sometimes. If I can't leave my small dog out in my backyard, something is very wrong! Judy can be a jerk sometimes because she changes her train of legal thought that suits her, not the law.
@Izinaima5 сағат бұрын
She just says that he is not without fault in this matter. It is also his responsability to keep the backyard safe.
@friendlypiranha7745 сағат бұрын
@ronduval - Judy is a jerk as a judge on this show because she is an actress. Just like all other (scripted) reality shows, she is chasing the Likes and will deliver her judgement accordingly. This show has nothing to do with law. Also, I'm pretty sure that if she carried on like she does here on her show in a REAL courtroom, she would probably be disbarred. I've never seen a real judge 'throw attitude' in court. Completely unprofessional. BUT for a TV show, it garners Likes.
@skylarjaxx23994 сағат бұрын
He knew the confines were not safe because of a prior incident yet he didn't rectify said situation when it happened. So because he knew there was a possibility as it happened before he also is a fault for not making sure the situation could be present again. Def 50% his fault. It's like putting a kid in a walker by the stairs and they fall down u don't put said kid back in the walker by the steps again you get a safety gate to PREVENT a second accident Edit Ha I get to the end of the episode and JJ also used a kid as an example analogy lol 😂😂😂 let me find out I just watch way to much JJ. 😂

Californians ad after ad saying vote no on Prop 33 my understanding is it's goal is to prevent price gouging on rental properties. Who has money to pay for this advertising blitz not only on utube but on all the pay per channels??? some small group of homeowners or realtors and landlords? I bought my house in 2010 I went through covid, bad economy and inflation and my mortgage did not go up my cost of living did but not enough to justify raising the rent sky high like they did. I don't claim to be an expert but my gut tells me only realtors and landlords can pay for all these ads
