Has a rear end ever resulted in the car that was hit being held at fault?
@ishshah86952 жыл бұрын
@@MrFatsluttytone Yes with Insurance fraud claims. What the fraudsters do is get 2 cars and drive on the highway/motorway in the slow lane Infront of a semi usually. Then the front car pretends to almost miss their exit and pull off immediately, making the second car pretend they are avoiding an accident by emergency braking. However the semi can't slow down in time and crashes into to the slowing down car. Then the fruadsters try to claim insurance compensation for not being the "causers" of the accident. However the police and law are pretty used to cases like this now.

@@MrFatsluttytone in the state of Texas (which is where I work and am licensed) , I have never seen it. Perhaps there are outliers, but I’ve never come across them. If someone reversed into a vehicle that was at a stand still the damage would be obvious and any adjuster worth their weight would be able to notice it. The location of the damage to the vehicle , in addition to taking statements from both parties involved, is key. And despite whatever cockamamie story people come up with, the location of the damage does not lie.

I had a similar situation. The neighbors across the street has a death in the family, so for 2 weeks they had at least 15-20 cars parked along both sides of our already narrow road to the point that cars could not get through, some of which would do donuts, or drive 60mph in a 30mph zone. Every night I had to find a place to park, or could not get to my own home, and on 2 occasions had to have my child walk down the street to pick her up as I couldn't get through as they would park out in the road, not on the side. One night a large SUV's driver came to tell my husband that I hit his car. We were both outside and both arrived in our cars at the same time. I felt nothing, no impact. My husband, who parked in our driveway, said he didn't see me hit anyone. I immediately asked to see the damage and asked to exchange info. I was cussed out, and ignored. The cops came and took a statement. The driver said he and a friend were sitting in their SUV when I hit him, but as I was getting out of my car, parked a house away, he did not get out of his SUV to go talk to my husband. He came from the front yard and did not have anyone with him. Per the photos there was damage to his back right bumper that could be buffed out, but they found WHITE paint on my right back quarter panel. His SUV is silver. So is mine. I also noticed that one of their guests had matching damage to his car, at the same height as my SUV, also with white paint. My insurance paid. But I think their guest hit my car. I think I would have noticed if I hit another parked car if I'm trying to squeeze by going 5 mph, since they said their whole Suburban shook.
