BS. There can be lots of reasons why the dog bit the child. And I don't mean, it was the child's fault. The least plausible story is Judge Judy's jealousy. More likely the dog feels the urge to protect the baby and to raise it, that's what his instincts tell him. The dog didn't try to kill the boy, he bit him, because the first warning, barking, had no effect. That's why the mum needs to react and like Judy said, get out of the way of the boy. At home, she either needs to train the dog with the baby or she needs a dog trainer to help her. But as usual it is easier to call the dog aggressive and get rid of him then to put in work.

Owner never came out when I yelled out to them either. Reported it straight to the police station with my arm still bleeding. Actually I didn't want the dog put down; the owner however should have been flogged 20 times for not securing his animal properly. I've had similar things happen to me when I've had my dog. I was stood in a bus shelter, there was someone there asking me about her, he did ask if he could stroke her and I said no, she doesn't know you and she will nip. He kept asking, and I carried on saying no, it wasn't until I looked up the road to check for my bus, that the dumb sh*t suddenly bent down and stroked her, and guess what, he got nipped. I did tell him not to many times. He still wasn't happy and continued bemoaning the fact she'd nipped him. His own fault not mine or my dogs. She was quite happy sitting there by my feet, being a good girl. Now kelsey would only do things like that if she was scared. If people ignored her, she would be fine. Lady, your dog has bitten two people(on record), and one of them was a little kid, all the while you were 'completely unaware'. Irresponsible pet owners in general can be some of the most idiotic people you'll ever meet in your lifetime.

If her dog is able to bite someone from just walking past it, what's going to happen when she turns her back and the baby pulls at the dog's ears or tail? It's likely that dog will snap.
@Uifon2 жыл бұрын
@@sabrinasadler6545 I think the word "snap" might be an understatement, to be honest. An unfamiliar kid just walking past the dog resulted in a bite wound that required slight medical treatment. All dogs are dangerous. And that's something most dog owners seem in denial about. They "humanize" dogs by calling them their kids, their babies, their child or whatever else.... but dogs are ANIMALS and ANY dog is capable of biting in a violent manner at any time if they are triggered by something that upsets their animal instincts.

@@rekcusdoo I'm an animal scientist and vet nurse and I have worked as a dog walker and trainer. We adopted a dog from a family with young kids because the dog couldn't be trusted not to bite them. He's had extensive training to correct it but he's still prone to snapping on occasion. Its really not that difficult to keep kids and strange dogs away from him. He's friendly as long as nothing is scaring him, but he has a glass nerve and a stubborn nature. If there's going to be kids in the house we just have the dog out and vice versa. He used to wear a muzzle on walks but since he's very well behaved on the lead we just tell people passing by not to put their hands near his mouth and that's been fine. We obviously can't tie him up outside a store or let him play at the park off lead, but he has enough freedom to run around the yard with the other dogs at home. Some people can't deal with the fact that old dogs don't change. They praise bad behaviour in puppies and fail to do anything to manage it when the dog is older. Once the dog is an adult there's a limited amount you can do to train them and all dogs have some personality quirks. Having a bad dog doesn't mean you're a bad person, it just means taking the extra steps to keep other people safe around them. Our rescue it a dangerous little bugger but he always feels very guilty after biting someome. He doesn't want to do it, but he can't help his instinct when he feels scared. No idea why he's so messed up since the family who gave him up were lovely and sweet but I think they treated him like a baby instead of a dog since he's quite sure he belongs on a couch and not outside. He gets better all the time, but i doubt there will ever be a time when he can be trusted not to bite.

@@ScarletBrimstone that is not how dogs work :'D If you bring a kid home (in you have a baby) there is work you have to do so the dog doesn't get jealous. We also need to take into account that some people also falsely accuse other peoples dogs of biting. My neighbour has a Leonberger - giant dog breed, friendliest thing. We live just down the road from a school. Some kids got scared of the dog because it barked at them after they threw rocks at it while it was outside in a FENCED IN YARD, my neighbour scolded them for doing so. Day after, police shows up and says that the dog has to be put down for "mauling a 10 year old". Because barking = mauling now. Some kids and parents are just malicious idiots. Some breeds, like most bully breeds (looking at you, american bully) should just go extinct.

I agree. If it's hard for humans to adjust to a new baby (which it absolutely can be i.e myself as a first time mom and watching all of my cousins have multiple children) then it can be hard for a dog. The difference is, children throw temper tantrums. Adults do too in a sense but usually it showcases in depression, anxiety, irritability etc. Dogs on the other hand, will bite. I have a new son and three dogs. You bet your britches we are SO watchful any time the interact and hyper aware of their body language.

This woman couldn't give a rat's arse and the fact she directed that kid to walk out wide suggests she had some inclination the dog was gonna bark or react. I have dogs that are impeccably well mannered, good natured and trained but when we pass young kids or anyone out and about, they're so used to it they don't even need to be told and automatically keep inside on my left and sit down whilst the person passes. A few days later they came back and did the same thing, and instead of trying to reason with these people my sister and I left, as we walked back to her car one of the dogs came over to us and started yipping at my niece who was all of 3 at the time. She then ran to get away from the dog and it chased her and she fell and it attacked her, I was right behind them and pulled the dog off of her and took it back to the owner and said "LEASH!" Then my sister picked up her daughter and took her to the car the dog hadn't bit her but had torn her shirt a bit. We called the city and made a complaint, gave them the couples license plate number. I’m sorry that happened to you that’s horrible , I had a pit bull come running at me ready to jump on me ,not on a leash late at night with no one around- when he was 5 feet from I froze and screamed a blood curdling scream right then a man came out from a motor home and called the dog . The dog retreated but I swear to god the damage was done (a little bit ) I’ve never been so afraid in that moment and was angry at that man for being so irresponsible. So when I read your comment I flashed back to that moment only you got bitten . And My heart goes out to . Doesn’t seem like a big deal right a dog bite but when it’s happening with a large dog it is scaaaary

Judge Judy is fantastic at what she does. And Sammy, you're such a handsome and polite little boy. I am glad it worked out in your favor.

Dog owners like that annoy me bc I bet you she knew the dog might bite the child. She felt it and she didnt wanna move so she let the child just risk getting by.

I hope she realises the seriousness of what Judy saying, she could end up in jail for negligent homicide, get your dog in order ffs!

What I love about Judy is her reliance on logic and not emotion.

I have known people like the defendants all my life. They think they are always right and they are not open to any criticism or even helpful advice. I agree with Judge Judy 100%. That dog can turn on a dime and bite that child. Just because it hasn’t been yet does not mean it won’t in the future.

Regardless her dog bit the boy, she needs to be responsible for what her dog does.

"I have a picture of the dog and the baby together." Good, you have a before picture. Hopefully there wont be an after.

If your dog thinks that a random person on the sidewalk needs to be bitten to protect its owner, the dog needs to be walked with a muzzle on.

Yeah he’s a sweetheart. I feel bad the poor thing had to begin rabies shots. They hurt. How awful. What a frightful disturbing couple the defendants are. *_The dog wasn’t defending her!_* JJ knew that as well. They have an anxious dog, because they’re too busy decorating and doing useless crap and not giving the animal the attention and training it needs. Once he bites their own baby, what a different tune they’ll be singing!

He even has better manners than most of the adults in the courtroom. How endearing! If I ever raised a child I'd like him/her to be just like Sammy.

I hope you use that from an unassailable position of correctness, because if you just throw it out there when you disagree with someone you'll come across as the absolute biggest of asses.

I've lived with dogs and cats my whole life and have tremendous affection for them both. But just because I love them doesn't mean I will turn a blind eye to any potentially dangerous behavior displayed around other individuals. This is especially true for when children are involved.

I love how Judge Judy put that girl in her place. Especially when she mentioned you be careful with that baby. She made herself look bad. That girl was definitely in the wrong by redirecting the boy when she’s the one that should of crossed the street.
