Judgement Day for our Queen Bees

In today's video, we are merging hives together which will make them exceptionally strong and almost guarantee them preparing to swarm fairly soon. Evidence of swarming early gives the beekeeper the advantage to split the hives and for the bees to build up ready for the summer honey flow.
This isn't always standard practice but at least we do not have to be continually on the lookout for queen cells throughout the summer, assuming that they will settle down once they have been split.
