If he decides he wants to be a nail tech when he grows up, don't let anyone dissuade him! Men can be EXCELLENT nail techs or cosmetologists, and contrary to most mens' sexist beliefs, they aren't all gay! Also, they generally make more money than women in the same shop! Women will pay a premium for male "attention," even if it's only for a manicure or haircut. I know this because my grandfather was a cosmetologist for quite some time. When I was in cosmetology school, the boys got ALL the attention! One time, one of the boys in our cosmetology school had a birthday. At the end of the day just before clocking out, we all put on different shades of lipstick. We made the birthday boy stand next to the clock, and as we clocked out we all gave him a kiss. When he left he had 30+ colors of lip prints all over his face! I've never seen a man more proud to wear makeup, including Wayne Goss!

I know this comment is 2 years old, but Kirsty doesn't have a salon and she doesn't work in one. They just have a "show set" for the channel and have models come in for the nails. This channel isn't hers either, Naio Nails owns the channel and she is their representative. They used to have different nail artists on, but now it's just Kirsty and Adam. It is sad though, would be nice if she still did nails in a salon!

Your videos are giving me all kinds of horribly pricey ideas, lol. I walk with forearm crutches permanently, and use a wheelchair on occasion, and I’ve begun decorating my crutches with all kinds of crazy vinyl things. I’m now having day dreams of buying acrylic and learning to make roses so I can cover my crutches in them. I’d have to stick them to a background of vinyl, though, the same stuff people use to put decals on walls and on cars. Would it even be possible to get the acrylic to stick?

Cassie C it's funny you should ask this, I also use a crutch around the house & for very short distances & have a wheelchair & mobility scooter which I've decorated with vinyl. A few weeks ago I added some 3d acrylic work - ivy around the middle third of the crutch. So far it's all stuck firm with no chips & nothing catching on clothes, which a something is worried about. I did slightly buff the vinyl before adding the acrylic so it wasn't too smooth a surface & on some bits I used primer & one part I forgot, so I guess I'll find out in time if that part chops off. I may have got a little carried away at the point of adding a vine-like light... But what the heck, I'm fed up of being bustled about in darker crowds when I try to see live music, I WILL be seen! Hehe. 🤣 Good luck if you do give it a go, it's great fun, & not pricey at all. x

I love that you showed a beauty exhibition and how they present their nails to be judged. It would have been nice to not only see the nail winners but what they won in the competition with it shown on the screen behind them. I wish I did competitions years ago when I was doing nails in the 90's.

Youre amazing! I qualified 4 1/2 years ago, but took almost 2 years out due to needing hip replacements. I am still doing my own nails and started a little youtube channel, but I am going back into nails full time this year and want to compete. Do you do advanced courses at all?
