Lee Carsley has been nothing short of a breath of fresh air. He got us back into the top level of the Nations League, blooded young players for the future, and wasn't afraid to start phasing out Harry Kane when needed. The fact he wouldn't kowtow to a parasitic, archaic, feudal system of monarchy is just a bonus worthy of great respect. He simply must remain part of the England set up, for me.

No Rice was a breath of fresh air in midfield

He has very bad skills on turn around from the back to goal. Curtis Jones has better skills control the ball from the back to goal so Curtis should be England deep lying midfielder going forward from now on. The other role that Rice can fit in is the midfield role as stopper or opposition attacking line disrupter/breaker but Gallagher plays better at this role because Gallagher has quicker reaction compared to Rice's slow reaction and anticipation. I think Rice sit on the bench is better for the team at the current moment as the same as Foden and Kane.

Another attribute that Gallagher is better than Rice are Gallagher connecting passer which one touch pass as the link-man from deep lying midfielder to the other player as it happened many time in the match against Greece and Conor play that role very successfully.

Without doubt the best football podcast on YT. Why hasn’t the ramble got more subs and views on here?

I've been saying that since before the Euros but apparently they get most of their views on other platforms. Possibly Twitch, I don't know.

In hindsight, the FA have done a good job... They have Tuchel in for a simple 18 month mission and they now know that Carsley and his team are capable but Carsley himself would need some good media coaching in order to take the job permanently after WC26. I'd like to see Tuchel take him to the tournament as a coach - hopefully with another U-21 title under his belt. I would say that he obviously did give himself a brief to blood as many players as possible but in a reasonably organic way. Gomes for instance, would expect to have got further starts, but Jones also did well when he started instead. I think there are a few conclusions that Tuchel can take from the 6 games - Madueke is a good back-up to Saka, Guehi is ready to lead the defence, Watkins & Solanke look worth future starts up front, we are well-stocked in midfield and the left side of the team in both defence and attack is up for grabs.

I suspect that a small part of why the FA chose Tuchel was to get the best out of Kane.

And wouldn't it be great for Carsley to care over for the UK/Ireland Euros.

Ahha have to agree to the first 16mins of this pod cast, Carsley has auditioned to be the next England manager, especially with what Carsley said after Ireland match, “ it’s gave us confidence that we can do the job” hoping he does get it after TT, also agree the F A ARE CLUELESS, all this pathway bollox, they have no plan only when it goes wrong, they should be planing for the next England manager after TT. Brilliant honest pod cast lads 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿👍🏻

Lampard as an assistant or youth team coach is a great idea. Considering how much the younger players played for him at Derby and Chelsea.
