Just wanted to say your first point in the video is the stupidest fucking thing I've ever heard, what kind of early access game has been available for purchase for over a decade, and been in development longer than that. People who defend BeamNG for being an early access game are huffing weapons grade copium and I need some asap, now I am not saying this is a bad game, it's one of my favorites, what I am saying is give me your copium so I too can forget I bought the game 10 years expecting it to be done by now

some people think beamng is just about crashing cars. But that's not true. Just be a little creative and you'll find your way to have fun. I've wrecked cars, drifted, raced track, mountains and drag racing, tuned a lot of cars, played scenarios and improvised my own, downloaded and made mods. I have played over 1200 hours and I'm not going to stop. This is the best game ever

This! ^ I honestly played the game for about 5-10 hours and got bored. Then I decided to look up what all can truly be done in the game. I am a huge car guy personally and own a couple of "performance" oriented cars. There is drag racing, all the vehicle modifications, not to mention all the mods. I have even gone and taken a car/truck and put a tow hitch on it so I could add a trailer. Added as much weight as possible and used the stock engines to just see how far I could get up some hills. In the end you just have to be slightly creative about the game

I know its like, an advanced version of what we did at kids, but putting race cars into trailers, having a second smaller trailer for "parts" and the whole 9 yards, driving back and forth from track to garage with "mechanical failures" and stuff is almost impossible in any other game.

Played it with a GTX 970 on triples 3x 720p upscaled with motion blur at 30 fps, even that rocked, opted for a RX 6700 xt lately, haven't tried it out yet, but I guess it'll do 3x 1080p easily at 60+ fps, yet, it's very CPU dependent, at least with traffic.

Actually you can full screen and lower your resolution so you can get higher fps. Watch muye videos on getting started in beamng, the name is “beamng settings you need to change”

The review from 2015 explains that it just feels like a crashing simulator, back then in the game's development there were many quirks (also some of the other missions and content was not available). By quirks one of them was that tires had SIGNIFICANTLY more rolling resistance than expected, leading to handling problems when going fast (experienced first hand). I love this game and it is one of my favorite games on steam. However some of these critiques are valid and I feel this video puts them in an unfair light almost poking fun at them when there were genuine issues the beamng dev team was working to solve at the time of the review submission. Some of the reviews were just straight up goofy tho 😆 (addition) also comparing reviews from 4+ years ago to the current game isn't really a reasonable way to look at negative reviews.

I agree you need quite a good computer to play the game, but even on my HP laptop, with optimized graphics settings, I can squeeze out about 15-30 fps (depends on the map). The low fps isn't ideal and the game doesn't look as good as it could, but it's definitely still playable and you rarely get bored of it. I have over 500 hours on it

I have an acer all in one computer, only with an i3 10th gen, with all the settings to the minimum it does 18 fps and crash when i crash too hard saying "gpu not found". But i understand the problem is my computer and not the game, i really enjoy all of the cars, maps, and the frequently and cured updates. If i will ever switch to a more powerful computer i will play it the way it deserves to.

Man i remember all i played rigs and rods for literally just the crashing, i spent hundreds of hours doing just that, Beamng was that but so much better, by a lot of the modders from RoR, i wish Gabester ported the original gavrils like the G2, Omega, Zeta, MV4 etc those were some of the best on the repository

I played beamNG on a pretty average desktop pc 6 years ago and the experience was nice, the game really isn't that heavy if you stick to a few vehicles (8GB or ram is minimum though) My config back then : i5 7400 gtx 950 4GB ram (I upgraded to 16GB a year after buying the game, was really the bottleneck)

I get a little tired of people who know just enough to be annoying complaining about BeamNG’s handling, usually understeer and sliding. Over and over I’ve told them to take a car to the skid pad and see what lat G they can sustain. The skill issue here is that a ton of brake in a corner will cause understeer (realistic) and and plugging in way too much steering lock will cause understeer (realistic). The only way in which BeamNG is even slightly at fault is that in some cars by default you have way more brake torque than you need (lockup with little pedal pressure) and by default the cars seem to have a brake bias that is a little far forward, the latter is especially noticeable if you are used to driving race cars not street cars in sims. But at this mostly means the “physics sucks” ignoramuses mostly need to tweak their controls and tune they’re chosen car to taste.

1:01 beam runs pretty great 1080p high setting with a i5 11400h and a gtx1650 and before that it was running fine at medium 900p with a 6700hq i7 and a gtx960m 4gb

tbf 2018 beamNG physics sucked ass. They've only gotten to be the quality of older full sim titles with the most recent iteration of the tire physics. The next update to add temperature (and hopefully an update to the aero system) will bring Beam well past Assetto Corsa, and for the first time ever, we'll just have full sim handling alongside full sim crashing.

some of these reviews were half truths. but ehh. here's my thoughts. graphics are lackluster in some areas, like antialiasing; even at 1440p the game still has some rather blocky edges. textures could also be higher resolution, some older textures are just getting kinda outdated. optimization could be a bit better, but its fine for the most part. game is very CPU intensive, so CPU is VERY important, even if you have a good graphics card, you cant really turn down the physics, so if your CPU is underpowered, your framerate WILL drop. the "doesn't offer much gameplay beyond crashing." I find to be quite true. I've tried playing all the missions and things, and i find them all to be quite boring and lack luster. that said, ive found just driving around to be the most fun. get a bunch of map mods, or BeamMP and just cruise. I find that very enjoyable, but i can see why people would think otherwise. Worst/best driving physics. that was just plain funny, it probably came from people who played Need for Speed or some arcade racers. I find realistic physics to be the most fun, but its mainly down to preference Multiplayer hard to access. for a non gamer, I completely agree; you buy the game download it once. all the other mods are in the mod menu, and comparatively, downloading multiplayer could be a challenge for non tech savvy person. BUT, if you want multiplayer that bad, it takes 15 minutes at most. certainly not "easy," but not "hard" either
