Technically camera captures images by receiving the light reflects on objects, if Vergil enters lightspeed, that means no light is fast enough to reflect on Vergil's body to be captured by the camera. That's why all you can see is the trails of the burnt ground as he tears through the space, creating air friction enough to sear the ground beneath him, and the distortion of space being split by Yamato.

I think the RE Engine made the distorted prism effect possible, really like how they went with cutting glass as Vergil's thematic particle effects in a way. DMC4SE couldn't pull stuff like that off.

Lol Dante is his twin brother, its obvious he can move just as fast he just likes to be seen kicking someone's ass which is why he's the showboating brother of the two. Nero is his son and we've seen him do quick dashes like tablehopper hes just more about fucking SMASHING opponents with all his might. They're all Sparda descendants with mostly the same core abilities, they each just fight differently that's the answer.

I like how when you compare this to JCE from DMC4, you can see that Vergil became faster. In DMC4 you can see him flying across the screen getting all of his cuts and slices in before landing and sheathing Yamato. But in DMC5, he got the fruit from the Qliphoth and regained his humanity. He’s so powerful and fast now that he’s invisible to the naked eye. This is power.
