The best female voice to ever come out of the UK. Singing here the best song ever written. This is history on video.

Very interesting video. I suppose all those tape reels are completely obsolete now and most of the switches, knobs and sliders would now appear on a laptop screen. I met Judie and her daughter Bailey earlier this year, both thoroughly nice people, very talkative and down to earth and still putting on a really great show!

Wow! Great to see with so little of Judie's history on video. In retrospect, those heavily synthesised albums are my least favourite of hers, though there are still some great songs on them. Yes, these days all kinds of things can be done on computers and vocal fixes are common (even live), but having seen Judie a good few times over the years I can tell you that she's one of the few that really CAN sing... Hope someone can find the rest of this...

Loved Judie's voice since "Stay with me till dawn". Then I found this video piece about 4/5 years ago and loved the way it details how this track was recorded. But I've always wondered ...is there a part 2 video available? I'd love to see the finished piece.

Thanks for your comment, Kevin. I don't remember anything about it. I can only guess that, being into studio recording and liking Judie Tzuke, I must have come across it, whilst channel hopping and quickly bunged a tape in the machine. Wish I had more info..sorry. regards D.S.

She was/is fantastic. A truly great voice and utterly charming. I always thought her albums were really well produced, but preferred her earlier work - before synths etc took over.

not kiddin. that chorus (effect) is hideous. Maybe if you took all that shit off, and then recorded a real drummer in a real room, you'd have a timeless track. the vocal talent is not getting its just desserts.
@Fexobs7 ай бұрын
You had a perfect vocal and you fucked it up. A voice like that doesn't need anything.

So WHERE is PART 2 ... Would anyone have a link to the 2nd part of this ? Thank You
@shippy5554 жыл бұрын
Once I saw that this was on (the tv), I quickly put a tape in the recorder and pressed record. That would have meant that I would've managed to get all of the rest of it. This was just one item on a programme that was made up of several short pieces of many arty subjects. In other words, that was the end of the Judy Tzuke section and after the adverts would have been part 2 of the "main" programme and would've been something else. I know I would've not missed any of the Judy Tzuke section. The fact that this piece is quite hurried(it moves along at quite a pace) and they end up playing/showing the video of the final recording, sort of verifies this.. Rest assured (apart from the start) there is no other parts to the Judy Tzuke piece. Hope I've explained this correctly. Probably, after the break, they show viewers how to paint the Mona Lisa or something!

She looks pissed off because she was a pure raw talent and technology was ruining it!
@DaveMcleanJr7 жыл бұрын
I doubt that. Mike Paxman and Paul Muggleton have been long-time collaborators with Judie Tzuke and integral to her sound. She no doubt completely trusted them. Also, this was 1991 when production and technology was starting to dominate all popular music. They would have all been embracing stuff like sampling, as were many other bands.

sound engineers...napoleonic & pretentious.
@MrRaylove13 жыл бұрын
Those 'sound engineers' are Paul Muggleton, her future husband and Mike Paxman, her guitarist. Both performed with her on stage as well as on her albums and co-wrote many songs with her. As such they were probably as responsible for the 'Judie Tzuke' sound as the great lady herself was.
