They are women. Their skills are lacking in general. Not knocking them, it was just the state of women’s judo at the time. Take the current women’s world champ in any combat sport and compare to 2007. There has been major progress.

wow, i have no idea how scoring works in this.
@makikomi
@makikomi 4 жыл бұрын
The scores generally relate to how the person being thrown lands on the mat. If a person is thrown cleanly onto their back with impetus (force), the thrower scores Ippon (usually regarded as 10 points). Close to that is waza-ari (7 points). If they land on their side, it is Yuko (5 points). If they land on their behind, the throw scores Koka (3pts) but this last score has since been removed from competition. Gaining a submission through an armlock, choke or strangle also scores Ippon. If you pin someone on their back in grappling on the mat, scores are awarded depending on the duration of the hold.

@ichichu
@ichichu 8 жыл бұрын
You’re still missing the point. No sense in trying to quote Miyamoto Musashi, because the situation is completely different. The point of judo matches is that you are trying to achieve a perfect throw, not just win. It is like in MMA when you see people trying for the KO when they are already winning the match. Similar to sumo as well as kendo and many other Japanese martial arts competition, it was developed as a way to decide who was the best without having to die in battle. This also meant you had to show the best form. If you know the history of judo, you would also know that in the past there was only ippon and later came wizari and even later yuko and koka points, because you were only superior with a perfect throw. Hence, running like the French girl did is annoying to me. Remember, I am not disagreeing with the fact she won, but the way she finished the match.

Ronda was 18 yrs old here & the female from France was 24 with much more experience then Ronda. If Ronda had continued I believe she would have become the world champion & also gold medalist in Judo 70 K weight division. She took a silver at these world championships. The following year at the Olympics Gévrise Émane did not come close to getting the Olympic medal. Ronda 1 yr older won a bronze & could have easily won the silver against Edith who was also much more experienced then Ronda at the time.

+Kaliman Chanoc You are right! With all of RRR success in mma and the money it has brought her, you don't see any mass movement of Judoka's moving into mma. RRR Olympic coach has stated don't expect other Judoka's to perform like RRR in mma. There will be more national and international women wrestlers moving into mma then Judoka's. On a high level it has already begun to happen with Invicta fc Sharon Jacobson 115 lbs strawweight fighter 4-1 with lots of talent fighting in mma. Jacobson is the USA Team #2 team member behind #1 rank wrestler in the world Helen Maroulis 23 year old (2015 World Champion). Many others like this will be moving into mma after the 2016 Olympics. It just appears that the Women Judoka's don't have the heart to fight mma. Many Bjj are coming, wrestlers and other martial arts like Karate, Taekwondo...etc.

Katherine Smith They probably dont wanna give up their Olympic Gold Medal. If they know for sure that they would become HUGE in MMA maybe more would cross over. But would have been nice to see French, Dutch and all the others in MMA. Specially if they would learn all the other elements. Im sure Rousey would be challenged and probably beaten in the near future which is normal in MMA. Nothing to be ashamed off. Respect to Ronda Rousey.. She made a good move for getting into MMA. Smart move, specially if Judo has lots of talents and almost impossible to become number 1 or to get multiple gold medals.

Katherine Smith i think Dana White will eventually find this black girl and give her a chance to face Ronda in the UFC. And when she does, she will definitely give Ronda a run for her money, (Not just a run, it will be a rough, hard, and difficult run for her money). Eventually, it will happen. Maybe somewhere down the line of 2017.

+Katherine Smith Emane is 33 years old and at the end of her competitiveness even in Judo. It would take her years to cross over and be competitive with RRR. Emane wouldn't be able to beat Meisha Tate or Cat Zingano in mma. Judo is only one set of skills. She would have to develop her boxing, wrestling , Bjj. Look how many years it has taken RRR to develop her striking and she has trained 6 days a week for the last 5 years. RRR is learning at lighting speed to get her striking to this level. RRR is a 4 1/2 year pro. Meisha Tate is a 8 year pro. Cyborg is a 10 year pro in mma. RRR striking has caught up and is about to pass her mma competitors in striking. Emane could compete and have some success but if she works as hard as RRR has done....Emane would be approaching 40 years of age with the hope of getting to RRR level now. With that said, RRR will be even better next year and the year after that. Boxing take years to get to the highest skill level. Just because Emane does Judo, it doesn't mean she has a superior ground game. Remember most Judokas do not learn a full compete ground attack. It all depends on their teachers they learn from. RRR was lucky to have a mother who learn that ground game and RRR has expanded upon that game by adding the Bjj factor to fill in the holes.

Rousey didn't look as good at judo in this compared to mma, but I guess it just depends on ur opponent

Lucie Décosse eat 10 Rounda Rousey . unfortunately in France, the ufc is prohibited, if it were the case, they will eat everyone. the teddy riner, david cozy, eat everyone on the planet without exception. The Jon Jones, Fabrício Werdum are nothing compared to these people

This is 2015 now. She has evolved into the best woman fighter on the planet. A lot of the best fighters lose fights earlier in their career. Do you really think that black girl could last one round with her today? I doubt it

If this would have been a jail porno scene, rounda would have been eating chocolate pudding for five to ten years and liking it. No arguments about. Dark skin girl is boss in cell block c.

She would destroy Rousey in 10 seconds in MMA. Rousey has ducked Cyborg for years and has ducked Gabby Garcia too and Rousey backed out of a challenge she issued herself to BJJ Blackbelts including Garcia.

Rocco 1108 Rousey issued the challenge herself to any bjj black belt any weight. She said she could any of them in a grappling match. When Gabby Garcia wanted to do it, Rousey started ducking her just like Rousey has ducked Cyborg for years.
