First shido was for overly defensive posture (notice the straight arms to keep Teddy out). Second shido was for cross gripping without attack (both hand on the same side - it's allowed only if there is an immediate attack and there wasn't) Third shido was for passivity (Teddy made a few attempts, Brayson didn't attack in return). In other words, it's just the rules, nothing unusual here.

1. It's a grand slam; 2. It's a semi final, not a final; 3. Brayson was very defensive and didn't attack which makes it very hard to get a score. 4. It's pretty obvious they were both exhausted, because well, they had quite a few fights before that one. 5. At the end, Teddy was the one who rushed to try and throw. He took a risk to get a real score and nearly succeeded. Most competitors would have played it safe for the last 2 mn of the fight once they were up on shidos.
