That's a really nice set of details - better than the BJJ instructions I have seen - especially the turn to 90 degrees and sit up.

There's another escape (I forgot what it's called) that's especially good if you're tall. Reach over with your free arm (the left arm if your opponent is controlling your right side), grab the lapel and choke your opponent back towards your left leg. Bring your left leg over your opponents head and push him off using a backwards, sweeping motion.

I think it would be better to put you weight down through the center of the guys chest, not the shoulder. Easier to escape with weight in the shoulder.

Do Judo people even grapple? I'm having a hard time understanding why their matches end with the throw and not a sub. Seems all sport to me..

Yeah even I was confused by that. I think you should throw the opponent AND THEN make him submit/pin him.
