Very good the Shorinji Kempo guy did well but this also marks the importance of learning ground work. Shorinji Kempo should just incorporate a ground game.

@@gbogdanove Exactly I think traditional styles should just start patching up the areas they are having problems with. Would just be a case of adding a modules to their curriculums to evolve a little and cover those areas. I really don't understand why they don't. Grappling styles should cover a little striking and striking styles should cover a little grappling. A little knowledge goes a long way.

I’d have gone to S-Mount, collected his elbows and tip toes my leg up until I got around his head with more control. That Juji would be mine all day long.

Lol. The ground was INEVITABLE. With all that gear on, no knockout was ever coming. It was stacked against the kempo guy. However, odds were on Judo the entire time due to fight statistics.

Musta been HECKA annoying trying to grapple with those gloves on. 😅 But I love this because both Judo and Kempo practice locks and take downs and Kempo was able to defend himself really well when they were grappling compared to most other "versus" who get tapped within seconds of the TD. But obviously Judo and BJJ will have the advantage once the fight gets down to the ground. Anyone who studies martial arts knows that. Still very nice sparring here. Oss.

Yes it is! Just make sure you go to a legit school. If your in the so cal area check out limon kajukenbo in walnut, eagle rock kajukenbo in Los Angeles, or kingi kajukenbo in Inglewood. You won’t be disappointed! Haha, peace!

Here, the judo guy has advanteje due to, Kenpo guy find the strike and ko, buto with the head and glove protection is almost imposible, however judo guy reach in distance and sumit the other guy

@Tim Hanselbach this assumption does not correct. Globes AND protection act like protection. However HEAD protection generarate a lateral twist of brain when this Is hit, un other words a contussoon. However Globes AND head protection decresase the chance of KO, this Is the reason of why in sparrings the rate of ko decresase.

the advantage of judo is that it's usually combined with jiu-jitsu. but some sports shouldn't be combined, as if you threw punches in a judo match it's mostly not honorable.

Grant Bogdanove, as a Judoka and a Jiujiteiro, it bugs me to see beautiful opportunities for Juji-gatame thrown away. There’s no reason to lose that armbar. :(. Beautiful Judo, nonetheless! People often forget that Judo isn’t merely throwing. Judo has takedowns, attacks, etc. we just see a limited form of Judo in the Olympics. Judo was an art that sought to take the best of JuJitsu schools and optimize them for specific purposes. Dr. Kano was a genius. Without him, there would be no Gjj or Bjj.

少林寺拳法は寝技がないから、寝技になるとやる事少ないよな。ただ、アドバイスするなら『天秤』はどの状況からでも掛けれるし、その様に修練してれば、相手に寝技かけられても、天秤かけれるぜ。

@@gbogdanove 『天秤（てんびん）』ﾋｼﾞｦ支点にして、相手を投げたり引き倒したりできます。この場合、柔道の引手で自分の動きを封じてきたら、『まきてんびん』の要領で相手の腕を固めると、柔道の技を外すのも容易ですし、逆に動けなく出来る。（回答言っちゃった。）今度、試して見てください。

judo I would consider a "real" martial art. Along with wrestling, boxing etc..I actually did a kempo class at the dojo where the guy in the vid is from and its really more like yoga than an actual place where you can weaponize your body.

@@manchanieves6692 eso es verdad, el sensei puede cambiar mucho el uso de las técnicas y la moral de su uso en combate, pero igual si nos fijamos en las técnicas avanzadas, si son brutalmente despiadadas, brazos, piernas rotos o inhabilitados, desarme a oponentes con cuchillo y contraataque jahsja los que dicen que no vale para nada el kenpo es porque no han visto las técnicas de morado hacia arriba
