If i recall correctly he was punished for almost a year for bullying younger students at the university, maybe thats why he didnt compete on any tournament between those 2 world championship

Teddy Riner was more dominant in results obviously, but he competed in a weight class in which he was an specimen as everyone was shorter, less muscular and less athletic (Kageura, Rafael Baby etc...). Name one judoka that he trouble with? No one can compare to him really because no one was like him physically. Ono is a different level o Judo all together...Judo is defined by the lighter weights while these heavier guys are just pushing eachother around looking for an osoto makikomi 99% of the time.

@@dan5626 Aye mate, completely agree. I've done 'Kyokushin Karate' since 1985, wish i'd done Judo the same. Been a Judo fan for 10yrs, and I prefere the lower weights, much more explosive in their delivery and variety of technique, but 'Best Judoka in the world', must surely go on results
