Judy's half-arsed 'I can't believe you dragged me out of bed for this shit' rehearsal is a million times better and more interesting than most singers whole-arsed performances these days. They broke the mould when they made her, they really did.

This is wonderful to watch. I feel that Judy, without the heavy makeup and dramatic eyes, looks very much like she did during her early years at MGM. Even her casual outfit seems to be more flattering than the full red gown she wore during the actual show!
@BamBamLW15 жыл бұрын
I think she looks so precious in this footage because she doesn't have all the heavy eye makeup on. Those big beautiful Garland eyes are more noticeable and she looks so cute in her black outfit and shoes. I wish we had more footage of her just being herself offstage. She will always be the greatest to me!

I lived on 80th St. in NYC during 1969 and saw Judy at the funeral home. She was tiny. I remember the peachy shade of lipstick she wore. She had on a blue grey dress that was more grey than blue. A friend said there was glass on her coffin, but I remember there was no glass.

How many times have we seen this?, a young person with real talent comes along and makes it big just to have bad habits and age take it all away. The first time I watched The Wizard Of Oz(as a young boy) I thought she was beautiful, I'll always think of her in that way. Sad thing about life is we can't keep a person from destroying themselves. Of all the celebs I would have liked to have met her, she was a very real talent for sure.

Exactly. Judy didn't need to rehearse her singing. This is a tech rehearsal for lights, cameras, staging, etc. She's really just going-thru-the-motions here. However, when the audience was watching, she gave it every ounce in her tiny little body.

Even though there was very little effort and it was a rehearsal, her voice is fantastic. The industry she grew up in completely destroyed her, along with the vile people that bled her dry of her money. Poor Judy always looked so vulnerable but still came across as such a lovely lady. She was taken far too soon and the world was then deprived of her wonderful talent ❤️

Hi guys! You know what? JUDY was H U M A N ! Simply put; she was talented, creative and way a hard performer! She just was working here, despite drugs etc... We may not have all been "there" but there is such a thing as a functioning/ productive addict; she just happened to be one of them! This was before known rehab blah blah blah. She was just plain "sick". That's why it's called a disease. Love this woman!

someone below asks, was she drunk..absolutely NOT. She just woke up. Showtime is another matter. I love this clip, i find it endears her to me even more. I can't watch the show(except for the finale, taped days later). She clearly is "off center" to say the least, not at all like here, focused, present, herself, even getting a giggle out of the ponderous lyric...
@mickyfinn44668 жыл бұрын
I read that she was so worried about being on time for the rehearsal that she spent the previous night in her trailer on the studio lot. If true, she probably had just rolled out of bed. Elsewhere on youtube, someone has cut this footage together with the number as broadcast. Check it out. The contrast is astounding.

Allan Fisch I don't she looked drunk at all she does look like she just woke up or tired from rehearsing all day , even so I think in this video she did really good nd sang clearly nd even if ur the best performed or rehearsed person weather it's for a concert or a play the rehearsal will be different from the actual peformance , that's how it goes in the industry
