Incredible vocals from one of the all time greats. And let's not forget that wonderful orchestration by Nelson Riddle!! Breathtaking!

I am so glad you have discovered the miracle that was JUDY GARLAND ! This is one reason why I feel so strongly that we older folks have some important things to expose the young to; that without us they may never find out.

The Carnegie Hall double album is Judy at her best and at the height of her adult vocals post as MGM years. Her weekly tv show vocals is nothing to sneeze at either. Sound tract to her movie “I Could Go On Singing” has some of her great tones too. Her acting in that flick is really good too.

How I love Judy Garland! I hope so much that you continue the Judy Garland journey. Judy Garland and/or Barbra Streisand - You can't do any better than to spend time listening to (and watching) them! Judy had the warmest presence I have ever experienced in an entertainer. BTW, check out two KZbin videos we are so privileged to be able to watch all these years later: Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand singing TWO duets on the old Judy Garland Show: 1. "Hooray for Love medley" (misspelled on KZbin as "Horray for Love" - this will help you find it) and 2. "Happy Days/Get Happy." These two historic recordings were made near the end of Judy's short (47-year) life and near the beginning of Barbra's career. They sound AMAZING together and have beautiful chemistry. Thank you for your wonderful reactions. I enjoy them very much :)

Judy Garland was the greatest entertainer the world has ever known. Judy had Barbra as a guest on her TV series and she was introducing the world to the new Kid on the block Judy loved talent.

Please watch and listen carefully to "When the Sun Comes Out" the earlier first version from the Judy Garland Show, episode 1, her rendition and vocals are phenomenally amazing, be prepared to be mesmerized. WOW.

If you want a real treat, listen to the live Carnage Hall version of this from, I think, 1963 (that might be wrong) because at the end, her voice breaks a bit when she's holding a note and when she gets the note back, the audience just roars as if Judy had just conquered Goliath. I wish there were video of that concert because the recording sounds epic (and shame on me but I'm not a huge fan of Ms Garland).

The Carnegie Hall recording isn't just a recording - its an experience. Whenever I used to listen to it, I had to listen to the entire concert, and then take a break for a few weeks before listening to it again.

@@Werdnasings I hope you do. You have to give yourself an hour or so and listen to the whole album from the beginning to the very end. Close your eyes and pretend you are there. And then, when it ends, you will be exhausted. It is an experience.

I never heard this version… it’s full of personality+ (as is Judy) but not top of the list; like some other live performances I’ve seen/heard of hers with Come Rain or Shine specifically. I feel like Judy is to be watched as much as heard! She’s a whole experience! I love that you let us enjoy this with you, thank you, darling! This is the one right here though >>>> kzbin.info/www/bejne/jaO5gqBrncqIqMU Also, watch ‘Easter Parade’, or ‘In The Good Old Summertime’. She’s amazing and so funny; Miss Showbiz should also be coined the RomCom OG! And have you experienced Ginger Rogers yet? OMG, let me pause for a minute!😅😮‍💨 got me all hyped on a Sunday night!!!😅😅

I think I may agree - and that is saying a lot! But the Carnegie Hall recording has so much energy and intensity - and much of that comes from the audience.

but this recording is incredible!! Sometimes I get so into her visual performance of a song that ironically I forget to "listen", really listen, to her voice. I adore her versions of this on her tv show, but wow, wow, wow this studio recording is really something.
