Her stage presence is so immense that throughout her career, she always outshined every single person she performed with. Every time I watch her perform, I catch myself smiling and eyes fixated on her and her alone. ❤🎶

Andy went all out for Judy, made her feel like the star she was, sets, her songs, and jokes and everything. Total class. She couldn't sing as well as she used to at this point, going flat, but nobody cared, they loved her and her comedic timing was perfect. During the Clark Gable thing, she busted Andy up with her serious stare, she never flinched and broke character. He lost it laughing. I felt their embrace toward the end was very sincere.

Thanks for posting this entire show! It's a shame she didn't return for a second planned appearance on "The Andy Williams Show," which would have taped on March 11, 1966 for airing on April 4.

I got to meet Andy Williams backstage before Johnny Carson show back in the 1970s , I was just a teenager sitting next to him before he went on.

If Judy had made a deal with the IRS, and kept to a budget, she could have lived and provided for her children just appearing on these cornball variety shows and an occasional concert.

As brilliant as she was with many things, she wasn't brilliant at managing money and depended on men to do that for her. Unfortunately it was these men who couldn't stick to a budget and mismanaged her finances.

@@TheGarlandGab You've probably read the Clarke book. Not all of it is true, but I believe the parts where Judy knew Sid, and later David Begelman, ripped her off... and she was okay with that.
@TheGarlandGab3 жыл бұрын
@@akrenwinkle we have read the Clarke book and think (and also know from reliable sources) that is full of errors and is disgusting and a piece of trash. We will one day be doing a podcast on Judy books and, although some of it will be personal taste and opinion, we are also rather meticulous with our research and do seek reliable sources.

@@TheGarlandGab I wouldn't completely write off Clarke, but some of his flimsy assertions are wholeheartedly accepted as truth on the internet. I've read all the bios and can't think of one that wasn't flawed.

@@akrenwinkle oh I would definitely write off Clarke!
