People always argue not C0 but C6 4 star vs C0 5 star, without ever mentioning how BS it is to obtain C6 on those 4 stars. So argument of 5 star better than 4 star isn't always equal. For example, pre Kazuha, C6 Sucrose was more valuable than half of C0 5 stars.

Fishl does more damage than keqing in keqing agr along with solving er issues and being very versatile which is just a better yae miko and emily. Xiangling is just a better emily in bossses and mobs due to double hits and more versatility and amazing no icd pyro app. Xinqiu is a sub dps, healer (If you don't have skill issue dodging, s 5k heals and 53$ dmg res with interruption res half that of a sheild).and also hydro application that is 30% better than yelans. Yelan on the other hand only provides 26.5% average dmg increase to one character.

Horizontal whale investor here with C6 Xingqiu and C0 Yelan: It all depends on the teams you’re playing. The damage reduction from Xingqiu is no joke in Hyperbloom teams, especially those that utilize Kuki, who is barely alive after an Abyss run. However, my Vape Arlecchino loves Yelan, even though Candace C6 can outperform her in some AoE situations. The moral of the story is to build around the content you are trying to clear. Get both if you have enough resources or can spend a couple of dollars, but there’s no reason to mindlessly apply what people tell you. Build and test for yourself-that’s the only way to draw a conclusion and see who’s best for your team.

I need hydro application only in two of my teams: hyperbloom and Arlecchino vape, and in both teams Xinqqui is better for me, he has more hydro and damage reduction, for Arlecchino it means she can properly vape and Thoma's shield will be stronger, for hyperbloom his interruption resistance means my rotation will be smoother, Yelan cannot replace him because she provides less hydro and I don't need her dmg bonus passive

been playing since 1.0 and while i respect everyone's takes on yelan vs xingqui i almost never find myself wanting what yelan has to offer over xingqui (with c0 fav/elegy yelan vs c6 xingqui). Its entirely personal preference which character each individual will prefer since they basicaly achieve the exact same result but with a sliggghly different path to that result.

I'm an AR 60 player. I generally prefer Xingqiu because of his defensive nature and comfort. I agree his interruption resistance isn't the best in its own but it's enough that I can generally be a bit more fast and loose with my abyss runs. I specifically prefer him with Alhaitham for this reason. I also generally play Xingqiu in solo hydro situations since his application is so high by himself. The only time I generally replace Xingqiu is if the team I'm playing already wants the double hydro core of Yelan/Furina.

I have a fully built C6 Xinqiu, I love Yelan but I feel like i would bench her the moment I get her because I'm a Neuvillette simp and other than Furina (that I already have), I don't plan on getting anyone else. Moreover, rumours say a Kazuha rerun is approaching, which would make for far better support capabilities for my account. It's a matter of comfort and who you want to play, never feel forced to pull for anyone for the FOMO if you know you won't make great use of said character.

Pulling for Yelan before Natlan makes no sense. If you have XQ, pulling for Yelan would feel more like a vertical investment at this point. You can blow ur wishes on Yelan so u can continue playing the same teams u played until now but with 10% more dmg, OR u can wait Natlan and unlock new fresh characters (that are as strong or even stronger than Yelan) with unique and interesting kits that open up bunch of new teams for ur account... Both fun-wise and account investment-wise waiting for Natlan is just a better choice. Do you really want to burn all ur wishes on a 2 year old character and just miss out on playing new strong, fun and unique units on release? come on now...

As someone who dislikes both yelan and xinqiu I can say that if you already have c6 xinqiu from just playing the game, it isn't exactly worth it to spend up to 180 pulls, hundreds of resin just to get a slight damage increase in some teams, when you can pull for other characters that can benefit you more? Like im not saying never pull for yelan but in some cases really it is not worth the primos. Ofc if you are a whale do whatever you want but if you are f2p you might have to think about it.

i feel like you overstate the amount of teams who can "just run double hydro". As new characters get released, the roster is getting more and more cramped and the characters i want on my team are getting longer and longer. In the past few abyss cycles, I have not ONCE said "I'm gonna run double hydro because of Yelan's offensive capabilities and gut a potential synergy on my team with a different unit". Not saying those teams don't exist, but they are become increasingly less prevalent. You also understate the amount of teams where yelan can't keep up with her meager elemental application. Especially with dendro teams where you can't just run a second hydro most of the time, xingqiu is the best and only option that works. "Most Xingqiu's will be built with an er weapon and mediocre crit stats" so are most yelan's? Idk if it's your inner whale speaking, but as a F2P with yelan, I run her with with sacrficial just like xingqiu (I don't have aqua simulacra, of course). As for artifacts, if i want to use yelan, I literally just take xingqiu's artifacts lmao (which is another reason why double hydro is almost never an option for F2P players). As for C6, what are you even talking about. He is a 1.0 Liyue character (so lantern rite exists) and you can get cons from the shop. he was my second c6 4* lmao and its not like I'm, a day one player. By the time I got yelan, I had a fully built c6 Xingqiu with emblem (like a lot of people), obviously I'm not farming emblem even more for a sidegrade 5* that is only better SOMETIMES. Your comparisons to chevreuse and faruzan are so disingenuous and out of touch don't even start with me. "he was free 2 years ago" he was free this year are you kidding me? and twice the year before that, and once the year before that. you could not even pull on any banner and get this boy c4. would I rather have a xinqqiu con or half a ten pull? is that even a question? I don't know a single F2P who would rather have 6 pulls over a con of the best 4* in the game. I find personally that Yelan doesn't have a spot on my account since I have: Kokomi, Neuvillette c1r1, Furina, and C6 Xingqiu (and a Sigewinne for good measure) I'm overloaded on Hydro and already clear abyss with my eyes closed so while I know she is *super strong*, for someone like me, she has lower pull value. And I only pull for my faves and Yelan's hair is too wack for me 😅

7:00 If I cared about the 4-star, I would absolutely take 3 cons over a quarter of a pity toward a five-star. You'd need to bump that up to *at least* half of a pity before I'd think about it, and even then it wouldn't always persuade me. The problem with the argument is less about the starglitter and more about the fact that said 4-star would not appear for the third time in the shop until over a year later. However, I've also never spent starglitter on pulls. Ever since I screwed myself in version 1.2 by pulling on Albedo before Ganyu released, I've always held those as my emergency reserve. I try to be smart with pulls, but I know I have a back-up if I really need to break the piggy bank. I'm up to over 1000 now. F2P outside of some Welkins in year 1.

I am not quite F2P (spent about $50) and have been playing for a 2 months I sacked pulls for a Noelle con and a first copy of Fischl. The Noelle to get her to C6 (on the Furina banner) because I already got C1 and did not want to go deeper, note I got 2 Noelle from the beginner banner. And the Fischl because I have a strict priority list of 5*s I want (Yoimiya and Wriothesley) and she is highlly unlikely to be on banner with one. I would use the shop again to get a new character or a high value con (C4 Xiangling or the like) but since it is limited to only a few old 4*s I do intend to ignore it past a certain point. 6:54 The main reason I disagree is because I am a dolphin in other gacha games and any 100% guarantee of a character is what I looked for. I legit stopped playing a Dokkan battle because you can't spark a new unit no matter how much you spend in that game, at best you have to wait for a first rerun. If I spend money or free currency it is 100% with the intent of obtaining the unit in question so if I don't have enough to spark a unit I will wait. I have saved for months in other games to pull and I likely won't do that in Genshin mainly because I have a massive backlog of 5* and 4* units I want. But I am already skipping Navia/Nilou because the 4*s on the banner are garbage. I only got Navia because I did the Noelle con from the shop with 65 saved pitty on the Furina banner otherwise I would have saved for the Wriothesley rerun or something. If I had to add a second reason I suppose for new accounts acquisition of new characters feels nice given the fact that it takes so much effort to get anyone beyond the initial characters because there is no real new player bonus like in other games. But this statement is kinda irrelevant given the question was about 4* cons not new characters.

I got Xingqiu since the first patch. Rarely used him. Got Yelan, and she is in competition as my most used character as Zhongli and Raiden. I got C2 Furina, and don't use her often. Lmao. Yelan is just so comfy while being such a powerful unit.

With how the Theater works, I don’t think it’s one or the other anymore. I think all accounts need Xingqiu, Yelan, and Furina. Probably even one of either Tartagles, Ayato or Neuvi too. Same goes with your anemo comparison. For abyss yeah, bird mommy and Kazuha are all you need, but for Theater having Sucrose and even a Hypercarry Heizou/Faruzan combo is very useful.

Remember guys aside from neuvillite theres not a single hydro character that can out dps yelan(furina mains pls dont cry here) and she is still in top 5 strongest dps in the game. Xingque provides almost nothing compare to her utility and dmg boost but in the end what chatacter u want is the most important. Personally i like to roam around the map fast so its always a good feature for me also fighting becomes easier who wouldnt want that lol.

Today I got Yelan , swapped my XingQiu in the hyperbloom team for her , did some ley lines and when I was NA my Nahida I realised I'm already out of hydro So She's not a replacement of Xq bec of the low hydro application but a dmg buffer for the hyperbloom team for me They both do different things and finally I have my complete double hydro hyperbloom team ready Edit: My Xq has 40 over 90 crit ratio, 250 ER with Sac Sword , I honestly don't care about his dmg in hyperbloom, adding Yelan to the team who does actual hydro dmg would help me in clearing 12th floor , My Xq as the solo hydro was so comfy that I don't need to care about his dmg but that might change bec with double hydro I'm overcapping with ER and some offensive stats would be good, same with Yelan currently she's on 70/80 ratio with 50 EM and 225+ ER with Fav , and too many HP rolls

i feel like the only time u would use yelan is when you already have enough investment to already clear the abyss, shes pretty redundant. really good but just redundant imo. also you don't need c6 xingqiu at all. i value horizontal investment as a f2p a lot more so shes cool but at lower investment levels I think shes just worse in my case because the defensive utility (that you are underrating a lot) from xingqiu is really good both for teambuilding and for clear time. you also said something about the usage of starglitter. ill be real almost everyone i know and i myself as f2ps save starglitter for these characters like xingqiu or xiangling. 1 4* is 10 pulls which is 50 starglitter while buying a shop character is only 34.

Well, I have Furina C1, Yelan, Xingqui C6. She is the one I use less because I honestly find the others 2 better for my team especially dendro team. The others issue is the news characters want Furina instead of Xingqui/Yelan except Arlecchino. Double hydro is good, but it is not my first choice to clears abyss. Outside of abyss (we only have once per months), I still use her regulary. Why I get Yelan in the first place ? She is my first limited 5 stars, I got her AR20. She was cool, I didn't know if she was meta or not, but her exploration, gameplay and the fact I can use her for a biw users instead of Amber was a real thing. Do I recommand her ? Probably yes and now with the IT she is probably a better pull than before.

She offers like ~15% greater team DPS in the BEST case scenarios, with the figure coming out to ~10% or lower in most teams. In teams where substantial hydro application is effectively "required", she can be a significant DPS loss (namely Sucrose national, which is arguably a better team than literally any comp you can fit a C0 Yelan into- of course, 90% of genshin players aren't ready to have that conversation yet). In exchange, you lose about ~40% of the "effective" damage absorption that you could have with XQ along with the additional IR. To call her "generally better" is flatly ridiculous.

@@Personpersonpersonperson Yelan has around 8% more personnel damage than xinqiu. Yelan provides around 26.5% dmg bonus average. Considering you have a goblet and most artifacts sets give 40% plus damage bonus you aleady have near 100% dmg bonus with the weapon. With buffs you have around 250 so yelans own buff becomes so small it doesn't do much. Just look at white tassle/sig weapon (Provide 48% dmg bonus each). 40 from passive 48 from weapon 54 from artifact set 46 from goblet 40 from kazuha 15 from bennet. That's already 350% damage bonus. (It gets even worse if you have refinements or use kazuha signiture. Finally yelan doesn't have enough hydro to overide the remaining pyro arua meaning arlecchinos first hit which does the most damage is not vaped. This is unless you make the rotation longer and lose damage either way. Plus we just ingored xinqiues 4k heals 15% hydro res shred 53% interruption ressistance and sheilding with more hydro app.

Eh yelan cant give enough hydro for hu tao, even the showcase against Masanori proves it. Also why get Yelan if you can get a character that gives something actually new for your acc? Her biggest problem is the fact she dont do anything really different, its like recomending Raiden (specfically for Hyperbloom) for players with Kuki, IF you have C6 Xingqiu her value decreases, so pulling for her would only be good for collectors, new players, pvp players. Btw in theory she is better than xinqgiu for Arle not because of her buff (that actually goes against BoL mechanics), but her CD that is 18 seconds and fit perfect Arle Rotations, but i really mean PERFECT. If you have to dodge she becomes at similar levels and Xingqiu can apply hydro to closer characters thanks to his Rain Swords (that becomes a problem if you wanna swirl with high ping and dont use Kazuha). Resume: if you are pulling for strength, just save the primos and get Furina cons or other character that will add something extra to your acc.

I use Xinqiu in a total of 3 teams and only one without Yelan and that is Raiden national which I'm working on phasing out next time Raiden comes along for a banner. I got Yelan back on her first rerun with Hu Tao and Homa. She is such an obvious upgraded but most obvious in Nilou bloom because it's ridiculous how much more damage Yelan brings in comparison to Xinqiu.

Ultimately I think in most situations, Yelan is strictly better than XQ. The biggest factor tho is that a new character in Genshin simply isn't cheap, at all. So when choosing what you pull, you usually choose either someone that brings something completely new, or a char you simply like. if you're not really interested in Yelan as a character and just care about her function, you can just settle for a perfectly functional budget option, when most other very strong characters do not have a budget option that doesn't feel gimped, or loses a lot of perks that aren't just inflating numbers. the biggest con of Yelan is ironically just being a better XQ imo. I really would have loved her to have more differences compared to XQ to be honest.

I have C2 Yelan and use her. I don't regret it. But she is not an upgrade to XQ, she's a sidegrade and I haven't stopped using XQ. this is a bad video. Most of these points are bunk. His ER reqs are lower than hers. For a Yelan player to not run an ER weapon, the ER you need is insane, and you probably need C1. How much does that cost? Second, counting the cost of getting C6 XQ (most veterans would have got that long ago) is misleading. It could cost hundreds of pulls, but you also got a few 5 stars thrown in for free in that price. You pay for 5 stars, not 4 stars. The 4 stars are somerthing you get along the way. You can also get a copy of him for free every year during lantern rite, which there have been 4 of so far. The reason his defensive utility is valuable is because even if you have a healer, you don't have interruption resist from the healer and can still have your attack combo canceled which is a DPS loss. You can mitigate that by running Yelan with a shielder instead, and like you said, you can pair her with Furina to match his hydro application. But the fact remains that Yelan needs a partner to do what XQ can do alone. Something this video ignores is Yelan's insane ER requirements. They're much higher than XQ's. And no he does not need to use an ER weapon. If Yelan can get away with not using one, so can he because his ER needs are lower, especially with C6. About Sucrose. Her EM sharing is something Kaz and XY don't do. I use her in taser teams because she's perfect for that. Being a catalyst she swirls electrocharged on every NA. XY can do that also, but her attack combo is very slow. I still use Sucrose when the situation demands it. I wouldn't use Kazuha in taser or hu tao because I find her EM sharing more valuable than swirling hydro. XY I only use in plunge teams. If I need a teamwide healer without plunging, I have other options.

I'd love to pull Yelan, but Navia just insisted I donate 25,000 primos to the Spina before she would grace me with her presence, so I'm tapped out. And I need to save for Zhongli (and Raiden cons, and maybe Xilonen, and probably Mavuika). It's unfortunate because Yelan would be especially useful for me, I don't like Xingqiu and never use him. Xingqiu and Yelan also overwhelmingly use the Emblem of Severed Fate set, and while they don't need the same stats/substats, there are so many other characters that use Emblem of Severed Fat that if you have BOTH, it's probably better to build Yelan first and give other good Emblem pieces to, say, Raiden rather than building Xingqiu. I got lucky and happened to get C6 Xinqiu due to random Standard Banner pulls + his 4.1/4.5 runs, but his use works as a backup for IM/Abyss since I can't use Yelan ALL the time. Also yeah the 4 star problem is just going to get worse, with getting C6 versions harder and longer to achieve as the 4 star pool grows - which both expands the Standard Banner and causes a 4 star character (unless it's Xiangling lol) to run less frequently. Mihoyo really should update Paimon's Bargains and make the cost of a 4 star con less expensive since 34 starglitter takes 70 pulls or so to get. As a F2P player, I spend starglitter on Kaeya cons if I have to buy a 4 star con. I don't bother getting cons, I'll just be patient until a banner cooperates with me.

Xingqiu is absolutely fantastic, he was a huge help on my account. Right up until I got Yelan. I do use him from time to time but not often. Yelan is also far better for exploration and puzzles, which I love. They are also wild together, that's fun. But if I'm picking one, it's Yelan all day, everyday. Im thinking yelan would be overkill cuz im not sure where i would use her that would be a decent upgrade. Yelan is always a good pull on an account no matter what you have, she's just crazily good and as Juice already said she provides crazy value in any team she is put in (except from specific ones like mono geo Itto for example) which is true. Now, if you are gonna pull characters like Zhongli, Itto, Kazuha or generally just supporting characters and not dps ones like Hu Tao, Arle or Yoimiya, there isn't really any important reason to pull her. Anyways, whatever the case pull the characters that you really want and don't feel pressured to pull characters that are META because they are gonna "carry" you. Play the game however you want, but if you are a META player and want to focus on it I highly recommend Yelan and then starting saving for pyro dps characters because she synergises very well with all of them (except for Klee but almost no one plays Klee anymore lol).

It’s pretty obvious you should skip imo, unless you really enjoy her gameplay. In a situation where you need lots of hydro application, you should be fine already Personally I would plan to have at least a character for every elemental-check situation (like shield breaking or some enemies require specific element) and for DPS check just build a team around your favorite character. That’s my suggestion

Natlan characters for sure. If u have 5 hydro 5 star units AND the C6 xingqiu, getting the new region units has to be both more fun AND probably a better investment at this point... U are choosing between a 2 year old character and characters that will be completely new and probably on the same power level as Yelan, and they will unlock bunch of new teams for you, whereas if u pull for Yelan u will basically just use her in the same teams u used before.

you seem pretty set on natlan characters which is something that you should stick to. If it were earlier in the game i would say for you to pull her because her mobility is insane and a godsend, but we have so many options for that now that its really only a small thing.

Yelan is a complete upgrade over Xingqui. I have C6 Xingqui but he lacks the damage and really only offer Hydro app and a bit of resistance, other than that he really don’t hold a candle to her, but I guess it’s all about preference.

I pulled for her with no guarantee, not willing to go all in because I'm saving for Zhongli (but since it seems he won't be in 5.0 I have a bit of leeway) And I won my 50/50 and got Yelan!!!

While I'm in the exact situation you described (have Furina and C6 Xingqiu), imma skip bc I lost Nilou C1 to Tignhari and I'm not about to use my guarantee for Yelan when I have Nilou and Kokomi too

I have both , i have xinqiu at the constellation that shreds 15% hydro i think, and he's a great battery for my yelan. Overall i love those two and furina

The moment Furina released, she took his spot on most if not all teams. It's as simple as that unless your new to the game. PS: You should still do your team setups based on comfortability over dmg(even then, Yelan wins lol). Since it only applies to the open world, and you still have to setup teams in abyss/imaginarium... 🤷

2:50 so if that is what you mean then hu tao furina yelan zhongli should be better than hu tao furina xingqiu jean/could retainer? or a chance to lose a charge attack or wasting 160 pulls or wasting 5 million mora just for 5 more dmg my xingqiu does 17k a hit which and he does like 3-4 hits in a second which also means ~60k in a second with longer duration which means yelan has to do ~20k to catch up and may still be worse because you may fall in the hu tao team and she needs more er so. "for me" xingqiu is better because i'm out of mora building everyone for new abyss

Yelan was my first limited 5 star and she CARRIED me. I do use xinquiou now but back then I never did. YELAN ON TOP 💯💯💯

when I got yelan, I realised she's just better, I didn't use XQ much since I got her outside of double hydro, then I got Kokomi, and then Furina, and never used XQ again ever since, there is nothing wrong with him, but theyre just better in their specific teams, as they should, because he is a 4* at the end of the day.
