Juiced Bikes: RipCurrent S Performance Upgrade Installation

I just installed my upgrade after 150 miles. That was the perfect time, as it gave me a chance to learn the bike characteristics at slower speeds. The installation took me about 1.5 hours, and the upgrade is simply amazing. This enhances the bike to a whole new level. So worth it. Not difficult, except the rubber insert part. My only complaint is that they shorted me 5 zip ties in the bag, and that was frustrating. You might want to have extras on hand, just in case...

As I installed this kit on my 2022 RC-S with under 100 total miles on it, I found that the rectangular port cut from the battery compartment into the cable channel on the downtube, the one that is covered by the rubber strip, had very sharp, jagged edges. It had already begun cutting into the protective plastic casing around a couple of the cables, and in time it might very well have cut into the power cable. I ground and filed down the knife-like edges and covered them with tough tape before I ran the cables through for final installation. This is about the last place you get to when tearing into your RipCurrent-S, but I sincerely recommend at least pulling the rubber strip down far enough to feel the edges on your bike.

Great instructional video.... Very easy to follow. Did the upgrade today and love the off the line torque it added to the bike. I have a fairly steep hill behind my house. THROTTLE only with the old 26amp controller it took 56 seconds to climb and had a low of 5-7 MPH at some points......... New 40amp controller it took 33 seconds and I don't think it went below 15 MPH. NOW THE NEGATIVE...... they made the tail/break light cable too short..... Almost like they designed the length off of a "medium" framed bike..... and I have a "large" bike and a extra 2- inches sure would of made cable management along the rack work out better. I must be rally bad for an "XL" bike. Thank You Juiced Bikes for the awesome RCS performance upgrade !!!

This upgrade contoller is the bomb!! and the rubber access strip on the downtube makes it soooo easy to swap! Plus 20 inch XL frame for us big dawgs! Genius ebike design!

I instaled my upgrade kit. It went very similar to your video but had to replace the wiring harness that connects the controller ti the display, brakes and accessories. Once replaced, everythig worked. Your support peopke were amazing ! On a full charge, i can get yhe bike to 30mph on throtle only in race mode ....even uphill! As the batteyr drains, so does the power and performance but still amazingly fun!

The upgrade is worth it you can feel the torque difference on all levels. Going from 1300 watts 90 nm to 2000 watts 100 nm. Acceleration is way better on throttle it would be nice if this came stock or the option to upgrade before checkout.

Update. I had a bad wiring harness ...Juice shipped me a new one and I'm loving "Race Mode". 😊

Nice installation vid!!!! I have a 2021 RCS and I use R mode most of the time I ride. I can push about 1,000 watts into the rear motor. With the new upgraded controler how many watts can be pushed into the rear motor? Thanks from Seattle.

Hey 👋 The upgraded controller will increase the motor’s peak amps from the stock 25 A (1,300 W) to 40 A (2,000 W). The throttle-only performance is increased from 20 mph to 30 mph.

Hey 👋 The performance upgrade kit will not effect the pedal assist or top speed using pedal assist, it will only list throttle speeds.

@@geemy9675 hey 👋 The accessory is programmed to only lift the speed limits while using the throttle in race mode. The higher amps are only accessible while using the throttle while in Race mode.
