This taken into account the Jail Kings methods is no different from escapism, shutting off their truama, the source of their distorted desires through artificial means, evidenced by the bird cage within the Jail. Its the same as denial/refusal to grow out and learn from the bad experiences, but rather taking an easy way out by using EMMA as the tool of revenge. Using the truama to justify their cruel actions of controlling the masses is totally the worst reasons, akin to Maruki's methods of fulfilling desires but in reverse. This is against the principals of overcoming yourself in the series, both good and bad experiences shapes a person and help us to grow.
