Thanks for the short video on the great processing of celery with the Kuvings juicer...very impressive! One last question. Does the juicer have to be cleaned out after processing a celery juice before doing another type juice? The Nama J2 is great, but its a hassle to clean it out after every celery juice. And with the Nama the basket and the soft outlet plug have to be replaced often for serious juicers who do several every day. How does the Kuvings hold out?
@JuiceFeaster9 күн бұрын
@@EricEllis-nv2yz Awesome! honestly, I routinely switch from one juice recipe to another on both the Kuvings models and the J2. There might be a little leftover pulp in the auger area, but I don’t mind a little mixing. If one wanted to have pure flavors of the next recipe, then I’d definitely clean out either the Kuvings or the J2. They are similar in regards to how much pulp might be left in the auger area after finishing a recipe. Also, I’ve never had to replace the juicing screen or rubber baffle piece on either the Kuvings or Nama juicers. Both are holding up well for me. I definitely juice daily and vigorously on both brands.

Thank you for this great summary. I have two additional comparison questions. Which one is best at juicing leafy greens, such as a kale, parsley, cuke, celery, ginger, lemon juice (typical juice for me). And which one is the easiest to clean (a bit consideration for me)? Thank you!
@JuiceFeasterАй бұрын
@@myra4795 great questions! I find that the J2 does a little better with leafy greens in the hopper as its blade is a designed a little more sharply. The greens can sometimes get wound up around the Kuvings blades as it’s designed a bit differently. Not a huge deal, but it happens. That said, both Kuvings juicers yields are slightly more compared to the J2. Not much, but about 4% more. For perspective, this is only about 3 oz more juice if you were making 2 quarts or 64 oz of juice. So while the Kuvings have slightly better yield, it’s not by much. With regards to clogging up at the pulp outlet chute, no vertical juicer is immune to it, but I find that both the J2 and the Kuvings perform similarly in that category and you can run a long time without clogging, especially with mixed ingredients recipes like you mentioned. I hope that helps clarify on those questions! Now is a great time to look at them with the sales that are going on! @@JuiceFeaster Thank you so much for your detailed answer. Just one more question....which one is easiest (fastest) to clean? This is a big consideration for me....and probably others!! Thank you again.
@JuiceFeasterАй бұрын
@@myra4795 you bet! Ahhh! Yes, I missed your cleaning question! Honestly they are all almost exactly the same to clean. They essentially have the same exact number of parts and designs, so basically the same amount of time and effort to clean. I’ve timed the cleaning on all of them and it takes me about 3 minutes 30 seconds to clean each one of them. Pretty fast honestly! The AUTO10 Plus does have the bigger hopper so it technically would take a little bit longer to clean it vs the others, but honestly, a matter of maybe 15-30 seconds longer. It disassembles off of the main hopper part so it’s convenient to maneuver it. Kuvings does include a handy filter screen brush tool that does make cleaning the juicing and smoothie strainers easier. It just snaps on and you rotate it back and forth around the screen. When you do this it has brushes on it that clean the screen nicely. I’m not sure it’s any faster than the normal toothbrush cleaners that one normally uses, but it’s easier. Hope that helps answer your question! Let me know if you have any others!

Torn between the J2 with the large hopper and large pitcher set and sorbet attachment vs the Kuvings Auto 10 Plus. These configurations are at the same price point. I like the design of the Nama large pitcher set; handle and lid along with the lightwr deaign. Technically I like the better yield on the Kuvings. Howrver, i typically juice hard things like beats carrots along with leafy such as kale, romaine lettuce, spinach, parsley and soft things like cucumbers and oranges. The idea of having to rescue a stuck auger, which would interrupt the juicing process, when chopping celery or leafy produce would counteract the purpose of buying a large hopper vertical juicer. Is this a fair statement?
@JuiceFeaster29 күн бұрын
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on those points! While no vertical juicer is completely immune to clogging or jamming, I’ve had very little issue with any of these, especially with beets, carrots etc. Something to think about, even if you bought the Kuvings juicer, you can always buy the larger pitcher set from Nama and use it with the Kuvings as it fits under the juice outlet spout on the Kuvings. I think each of these juicers has the same capabilities with regards to stamina and juicing without a stuck auger. They all have reverse features as well so that you can reverse the auger if there is a jam. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever used the feature on any of the models. I’ve had the Nama J2 since earlier this year, and just received the Kuvings Auto 10+. I must say, my first use was not as impressive as I thought it was going to be. I juiced a ton of citrus produce and the pulp continuously got trapped under the blade. I had to go in every few minutes and fish it out. After juicing mostly citrus, I had to stop and wash all the parts before going to harder fruits. It’s almost like it got clogged and wouldn’t have been able to juice the next batch if I didn’t wash the parts. I know this is a very expensive juicer, but I felt like my Nama did a reasonably better job at citrus. On the plus side, I have to say the quality of the juice is amazing. I just sold the centrifugal juice I once had and no way did the juice from it come close to the quality of these cold press juicers. I will decide if I’m gonna keep the Kuvings, but I’d love to see ways of making it perform better with citrus.

Great feedback! I do find that with softer items like citrus, giving a few chops to quarter the oranges, helps to feed them through. How does the Kuvings Auto 10 or Auto 10 Plus compare to the Nama M1 for making nut/oat milk? I would love to have just one machine to do both, but don't want to sacrifice milk quality.
@JuiceFeaster16 күн бұрын
Great question! while the milks are good on the Auto10’s, the difference with milks on the M1 is in the flavor, texture, richness and creaminess. Here’s why: the M1 uses a high speed emulsion blender initially to emulsify the fats and oils in the ingredients and then a spin cycle to extract the milk from the pulp. The screen pore size on the M1 is much smaller too. The Auto10’s don’t do this, and this makes an incredible difference in the quality of the milks. So, while the milks made on the Auto10’s are OK, the quality of the milks is night and day once you experience it on the M1. My thoughts are that if you’re mainly a consistent juicer, and only make milks occasionally, then the Auto10’s are great for their versatility of being able to make both. But if you’re mainly a milk maker, and looking for the highest quality, highest yielding milks, then the M1 is a no-brainer purchase. And if you wanted the best of both worlds, one could always get both. Hey Brett just wanna start this off by saying thanks for all the replies and guidance you've given me.. very much appreciated. There's one last thing i wanted to get your opinion on. I wound up pulling the trigger on the Sana 878 (pretty much exact copy of Hurom H320) and just put it through a gauntlet against my Kuvings C7000. In all honesty I don't love it as much as I thought I would. Don't get me wrong it's a great juicer, looks really good and is very easy to clean, but on average was only matching my C7000's juice yield at best and consistently put a fair bit more pulp in the juice. I was wondering if that's also something you've experienced with the Nama/Hurom and the Kuvings? I know you mentioned that Kuvings tends to give slightly higher yield but was curious if that was the case against hurom as well? I don't mind a little pulp but I'd rather not have to sieve everytime i juice. I also wanted to ask if you have any tricks that might help improve yield and minimize pulp. Kinda sucks cause I'm not a fan of returning something once I've tried it but if the Auto10+ makes a higher yield while also putting less pulp in the juice I might have to make the switch. I appreciate any feedback you can offer. Thanks again brother
@JuiceFeaster28 күн бұрын
Hello! Thank you! I’m glad that I’ve been able to help! With all vertical juicers, I find that there is going to be pulp in the juice. They are all pretty similar in that regard. In this video, I tested the juice yield and pulp on the two Auto10 juicers vs the Nama J2. They all were very similar (2.4% for Auto10 and J2; 1.9% on Auto10 plus). Although they were similar in pulp percentages, the Auto10’s did have a slightly higher juice yield of about 4%. To put this in perspective, if you’re making 2 quarts per day, this amounts to about 2.5 oz more juice. Not significantly different to be honest. To be frank, I’m less enthusiastic about Hurom and Sana’s batch juicers due to lack of accessories like larger hopper, citrus attachment or sorbet attachments. I have a review coming out on both in December. If one is most concerned about juice yield and low pulp, then the vertical batch juicers are not the best. If that’s of most importance, then I suggest going with a horizontal single gear, twin gear or hydraulic press juicer. Here are the best that I’ve tested: geni.us/Sana727 geni.us/GreenStar5 geni.us/PUREBundle The trade-off… they are slower and less convenient use. More chopping prep, etc. So, if you want to stay in the vertical convenient juicer category, I’d recommend the Auto10’s or the Nama J2 as I recommend in this video. If you prioritize juice quality, low pulp and juice quantity, then the horizontals or hydraulic press are the best options. Now is a great time to look at them with the sales that are going on! @JuiceFeaster Thanks alot Brett I always appreciate it man. I do like the vertical styles better than horizontals since they're so much easier imo and seem to make a higher yield, at least from my experiences (except for twin gears) so I'm definitely gonna stick with a vertical juicer. Maybe the Kuvings just processes the pulp more finely and that's why it feels like it makes a lesser pulp? I dunno. I do like the Sana better than Hurom not just for looks but it also comes with a free gift and sorbet attachment which is pretty cool, not to mention full 15 year warranty. I agree it's kind of a downer that it's hopper isn't as large and there's no citrus attachment, at least not yet. I was curious about something though. Would you happen to know if the extra large Nama hopper works on something like the Sana 878 or Hurom H320? Since they're so similar to the J2 I figured maybe that could be a work around to getting the larger hopper onto one of the other juicers

@@MrJ.31that’s a great question! But unfortunately, the larger hoppers don’t crossover and fit on any of the other models.

You forgot to mention about cleaning and dishwasher safe?
@JuiceFeaster13 күн бұрын
Great questions! None of them are recommended to put in the dishwasher as the high heat will potentially warp and degrade the plastic parts. With regards to cleaning, they are all equally easy to clean and all three take the same amount of time to do so. I’ve timed it for all of them and it’s right at 3 minutes and 30 seconds for all of them. Super easy and fast. You can check them all out here: Nama: geni.us/NamaJ2 ( Save $55 using code: JUICEJ20 ) Kuvings: geni.us/JFKuvings ( Save $70-$74 using code: JUICEFEASTER ) Thanks for those questions! Great video!! I still torn between the J2 and 10+ I’m leaning more Nama since I am still a beginner using a $100 Amazon juicer. The kuvings steel blade and larger motor are a plus, but again I’m a novice so is it really necessary for me. I can’t decide 🤷🏾

Thanks! Appreciate you tuning in! I think the J2 would be a solid choice for sure, and with the ability to buy the larger 100oz hopper it’s a great way to level up later. That said, the 135 oz hopper & stainless cutter on the Auto10 + are really nice to load up with so much produce, it really makes it easy. Tough choices for sure! I'm in a similar boat when it comes to upgrading my juicer. I currently own a Kuvings 830, but I've been considering both the Kuvings Auto10+ and the Nama J2. Based on my research, here's a breakdown of the costs for the Nama J2 with various configurations: * Nama J2 with 100 ml hopper and pulp strainer: $591.96 (with free shipping and tax) * Nama J2 with 100 ml hopper: $566.73 (with free shipping and tax) * Nama J2 (base model): $495.55 (with free shipping and tax) The Kuvings Auto10+ with discount, free shipping, and tax included costs $549.08. I hope this information helps others who are also considering these juicers.

Nama j2 is not less expensive if one upgrades to all the strainers Auto 10 has and the bigger feed chute.
@JuiceFeasterАй бұрын
Actually, that’s incorrect. The Nama J2 base price is $550 + large hopper upgrade $95 + sorbet attachment $45 = $690. That’s $9 less than the original Auto10 and $48 less than the Auto10 Plus. Yes, the Auto10 and Auto10 plus do come standard with the larger batch hoppers. Thanks for your comment, though, appreciate you tuning in!

Can you do a weight of the wettest pulp to see which leaves the most dry waste
@JuiceFeaster24 күн бұрын
In the video, I list the percentages of juice yield based on weight. Here are the numbers and rankings: After weighing the ingredients making & straining the juice, here’s what I found: The Original AUTO10: Came in at 65.2%, which was the highest juice yield. And the AUTO10 Plus: came in second at 64.7%. The Nama J2 was third and Averaged a 61.3% yield. So the original Auto10 had the driest pulp, the Auto10 Plus was second driest. And the J2 was the most wet. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Are these juicer good to juice wheatgrass?
@JuiceFeaster26 күн бұрын
No, not really. For wheatgrass, I recommend these juicers: geni.us/GreenStar5 Or this one: geni.us/Sana727 These juicers have way better yield and nutrient extraction than the vertical batch juicers, but they are a bit slower to use since they have smaller feed chutes. Really depends on your juicing priorities. Let me know if you have any other questions!

SAD - They removed all Discount codes for both juicers before BLACK FRIDAY sale
@JuiceFeasterАй бұрын
Hello! I just checked and all Kuvings juicers are in Black Friday Sale right now through 11-29. All Nama appliances are on sale as well currently except the Nama J2. It goes on sale on Black Friday 11-29 through 12-2, as has always been Nama’s routine. This year they put all their other appliances on sale first and then adding the J2 on sale on Black Friday. Are you perhaps outside of the USA? It’s possible that if you are, the juicers aren’t on sale in your area.
