This is weird!! We have a 90 in that colour and rough age and all the transformations you have done and will be doing, we've done!!! It's like watching ours be reborn again, from new cross member to soundproofing and new interior. At 6'4" the bulkhead removal is my favourite mod, but sound deadening transform's the car. Can't wait for the next episode 😁.

Hi Mr Juice, Another top video! Absolutely love watching these type of videos, I’m learning slowly what goes into my Puma and it gives me confidence to try stuff myself. Last weekend I fitted the Front Runner drop down table to the rear door, if you look at the rear door it’s so contoured it looks like it won’t fit, I removed all the trim and fitted tubular spacers bolted through to the rear wheel carrier, I have to say it looks factory fitted with zero rattle, what I lack in terms of being a mechanic I make up for with my carpentry knowledge and ‘finish’ is everything. Awaiting parts now to do headlight surrounds, grille surrounds and new grille, I know most of this is easy stuff but it’s a start, I will be tackling light upgrades after a lot more research!!! Keep them coming buddy!!! Kind regards Tony

Greetings from the Netherlands. Loving your vids, absolutely keep making them. I’ve a 90 waiting for me to have the time to work on. I’m 1,90m tall, drove it many years with the default bulkhead which necessitated a smaller steering wheel and with no power steering .. oef 💪 . The bar was always in the back of my head but seeing you doing the mod is definitely encouraging me to do it as well. Thank you.

Nice work there 👍 Fond memories back to ‘94 when I bought a new 300 Tdi 90 base SW. Paid £150 extra for tinted glass & cloth seats (bargain !) and £50 extra for the cubby box - mounted on 2” x 1” baton 😆 Favourite feature was body colour swarf & rivets on the floor behind the seats as they hadn’t even swept it out. Character 😎👍

Love the videos but please leave bodywork alone! Know you can't see it but I'd not be happy to see that, no prep on old paint, metal filings everywhere, seem sealer with fingers? Surrounding paint should have been keyed and cleaned, seem sealer can be done really neatly by running a line of tape either side of the joint first, use Sikoflex or tiger seal and use a brush, remove tape and it then looks factory.

Two things. Are you going to do anything with a the sunroof as from experience they do nothing but leak? Secondly, because of your channel I am now in the process of buying a 2007 Defender after 5 years from last owning a TD5 - children forced sale!. This has lead to near divorce in my house, but I think it is worth it! I am really enjoying everything that you are doing, keep the builds coming and your content is getting better all the time. I don't underestimate the time and effort it takes to feed KZbin and it must add hours to your day. Lastly, what Fox suspension would you recommend for a 07 110 CSW?

Hi great vid but you missed out the fitting of the 2 upright bars to the tub without lifting the roof a job I don't really want to do as it breaks all the seals. Would love to know how you did yours, would rivnuts work?
@sunnyjim13724 жыл бұрын
Now I would have split the joint along the 'lip', then cut off the bit on the seat box and dressed over the remnant of the bulkhead, then riveted that flat to the seat box rather than cut it all off and then put on an angle to cover the joint. That way, the riveted seam will be hidden under the carpet and you wont have the messy bit behind the bar! Maybe try that next time and see how it looks? If you do need any extra material, there is of course the bulkhead that you threw in the skip - material that matches the job you are doing!
@teamidris4 жыл бұрын
Sweet love it :D I had threatened to do it to the S1 back in the early 1990’s (luckily I didn’t). And that bulkhead does next to nothing anyway. (Roll cage hoop would be nice instead of weird brace) My race buggy didn’t have one, the rear-exit winch was there. It self reeved and the free-whole lever was within reach. It’s just better no to have it :o)

We like the series so far. The bulkhead removal is not for us . You should us rivnuts for bolting up things which are hard to reach on your own ,and they make a neater job. Another way of joining Ali together is to teach your self , Low heat Aluminium Welding. Its not difficult and makes a better job than all those rivets.

OK I will ask the dumb question: "What are the big rubber bands for on that bulkhead you took out?" Oh and the front end of the wheel box? Just carpet over it before fitting the bar. And I hope you seam seal under the new seam inside the wheelbox as well. Always seal both sides of a seam and use a stiff brush for a factory finish. Its what the BL factories did. Interesting conversion though.
