The old rock and roll unfathomable truth: no matter how many band members you add, a trio always sounds ballsier.

I loved the old Silverchair...however, this is truly one of the best albums I've ever heard. I like every single song. I'm so glad they grew up. He actually gets to SING with that awesome voice rather than scream. I think this album should be considered a classic. Just the kind of stuff that I used to love old Genesis and bands like Yes, Rush and Pink Floyd for. Originality ad creativity and this album has that in spades ;).
@avedic4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! I love all of Silverchair's albums. But Diorama isn't just great....it's *_perfect._* Easily their best album, imo. And I even think Young Modern was their 2nd best album ever. For what that album was going for...they nailed it. Actually, I think the demo album for YM, plus the 3 b-sides for YM, are maybe better than the studio version.

Silverchair is just incredible. Ben Gillies is very minimalist on rudiments, with no any difficult drum fills, but hard on playing at. Joannou consistently getting better year-after-year on bass. Daniel Johns, what can I say... uh... exploring different tunings, harmonies, scales, using and abusing from dropped tunings... This is I call normally... Authenticity!

Let my spirit ride on a one way mule Blistered skin in a cold hearted pool Distant emotion hides a concrete wall Naked and anchored I'll climb right back to you Love me for my mind Cause I'm a dangerous heart When I've got time to kill I'm coming back to you Distant memories in a cage by my bed Viscid dreams stick to holes in my head But a patient career of sleep in a sunday dress Rides my wake And love me for my mind Cause I'm a dangerous heart When I've got time to kill I'm coming back to you I'll stake out just to find The knife in the dangerous heart When I've got time to kill I'm coming back for you And love me for my mind Cause I'm a dangerous heart When I've got time to kill I'm coming back for you I'll stake out just to find The knife in a in a dangerous heart When I've got time to kill I'm coming back to you To you To you, yeah To you

@@jules8159 Yo I was actually wrong, this isn't even my favorite version. I heard Faraway Stables and it was too over produced, i like that raw sound. IMO, THIS is the best version: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mICymqWGec6Kmdk

@@borderlinechuck2351 Happy to have made you discover this one ! Didn’t expect a reply lol I just saw it after being here again 🙃 They’re all three excellent honestly, the last one you listed I totally understand why it’s your favorite. It is extremely tight and Ben’s doing really well his craft, Daniel is on fire and took some risks guitar wise here and there. Faraway Stables is my favorite because I relate to it emotionnally, its mood and vibe, and the fact that he dedicates it to ‘his lady’ to me it just fits it so well and you actually get a big glimpse even more than a glimpse of Daniel’s mind and intentions. I love the lighter higher note he does here as well (cold -hearted- pool), I’m not much of a listener of the 2002 concert but hey maybe that’ll change ☺️ By over produced can you explain that I might not understand your thoughts
@borderlinechuck23513 жыл бұрын
@@jules8159 Well said! I just meant it sounded over produced, like, if you listened to that on a record without watching, it sounds very clean, almost like a studio recording. Nothing wrong with that, but I just like the raw sound of that last one, and also, the lyrics weren't even complete like on the record (either that or Daniel was out of it and forgot them LOL) which to me, changes the song a bit. But that's my opinion of course, I do agree, all three are great versions, and I can understand where you're coming from on the one you like. I haven't watched all of Faraway Stables, but I'm going to now! Thanks!
