Big hero of mine this guy right here Dean DeLeo. His tone, his chord choices, his riffing, his general badassery. His riffs have more jazz chromaticism and chord voicing that you can shake a stick at. I’d wager, that concept and his stacked mega distortion layered with a cleanish chorus/phaser sound is his unique recipe that made his stand out from all the other growly grunge of the day.
@YonOtto Жыл бұрын
They all killed it! but as a guitarist, these riffs are VERY simple. Anyone with beginner levels of guitar playing knowledge can play Plush.
@turunturun Жыл бұрын
@@YonOtto You either forgot what it was like to be a beginner, or you have a lot of natural talent, or you’re not playing the riffs right. I agree these aren’t Polyphia riffs or anything, but a barred major 7th C shape isn’t exactly a beginner chord, and the main intro theme is probably early intermediate to get every note ringing out clearly but with no unwanted buzz, notes, or noise. But, definitions of beginner can vary and you’re right that in the grand scheme of guitar difficulty most STP riffs are on the easy end, including this songs.

This is the best live version of "Plush" in the entire history of the band. Scott Weiland's voice still retained its original power, perfect for rock n' roll. Unfortunately, as Weiland sank into drugs, his health and voice disappeared. In the show "Alive In The Windy City" (2010), it is noticeable how his voice in "Plush" already sounded without power, terribly squeaky. At that time, Weiland was already on his way to death.
