*I like that I can "fry" something on a whim! An oil fryer takes so much more time to clean and prepare **MyBest.Kitchen** a chore which usually kept me from frying all together. Also, the lack of needing oil to fry means that my family and I are eating healthier... while still enjoying the crispiness of fried foods.*

Fastest best way to cook a steak. I been air frying my steaks for about a year. Starting my grill or pre heating oven and frying just too much work lol
@derryshore55864 жыл бұрын
I put foil in the basket. The foil catches all of the juices from the steak. When done I pour the juice over the steak. Nice and succulent. Also no clean up

Derry Shore make some gravy out that juice and mash potatoes , pop open a can of corn and one sunny side up egg on the skillet 🍳 and we are good to go.

The air fryer has moved into the “If it breaks I’ll go right out and buy another one” category. I tried your recipe for cooking the steaks, it was quick and easy, I put a handful of Rally’s seasoned fries in the other half during the last 4-5 minutes. Yum, yum, yum, 07/27/2020

Dont use aerosol type sprays..the chemicals in them will eventually damage the non stick coat on the air fryer plate. Use a manual spray bottle instead.

I tried this today, turned out great ! Here are the steps I followed: # bought a couple of 200g (7 ounce) Striploin steaks # took the steaks out of the fridge 20 minutes before cooking # pre heated the my Daewoo 3.6 L Digital Air Fryer to 200C (400F) for 3 minutes # rubbed powdered black pepper & granular salt into both sides of the steaks # sprayed light coat of cooking spray (half sunflower oil / half water) onto basket of air fryer (pump action, not areosol) # put steaks in basket with fat facing the center # sprayed light coat of cooking spray on the steaks # set the air fryer to 200C (400F) for 7 minutes # fliped the steaks, sprayed them with another light coat of cooking spray # set the air fryer to 200C (400F) for another 7 minutes The steaks were cooked EXACTLY medium, they were still juicy but without any pink inside. I prefer my steak medium rare, so next time I will try it at 200C (400F) for 6 minutes each side ;)

Why do air fryers even have a temperature setting? Every time I’ve cooked using one, and every recipe I’ve seen, it’s set at 400.

True lol......i think that since the fan and airflow helps cook food faster though, we can get away with cooking meat at 375 for a shorter amount of time than we would an oven.

in the last 3 years i ate more steaks than i did in 34 years (im 37) making it my own in the airfryer. you go to any nice sitdown place, the steak with veg and a drink + tip is gonna cost you 25-30$ and before i knew of airfryers, its soo much work in the pan, monitoring it, moving it around, flip, takes like 1/2 an hour. why i pay 25$ for someone else to doit like once a year. then AF came into my life!!! you go get a nice .75-1lb steak..seasoned already is good...i preheat my AF 400* for 5 min...so its its hot..i open the package , put the steak in for 5min 400*, beep, flip for another 5min. its soo good...and i got broccoli in the microwave those cheap lil bags... all that for around 12$, and i hardly did anything, i just opened it, pressed a button, flip,pressed a button an ate... like that with anything you put in it!!

First mistake at 1.34, using spray can oil, a complete no no. Despite what you read and what it says on the can, will eventually destroy the non - stick surface. And on stainless steel or cast iron will gum up and destroy the seasoning of the pan. Buy some oil and put it into a good quality spray bottle, also a lot cheaper. And never use Canola oil, use Olive oil or Avocado oil. 😀🧑🎄

I LOVE cooking meat in the air fryer. It comes out 100 times better than a traditional oven, and your apartment doesn't rech 120 degrees inside.

My gormia air fryer says NO spray oil because it will ruin the non stick cooking surface, so check YOUR air fryer directions on this. I just use plain olive oil and use a pastry brush on the steaks.
@lenn7413 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you are saying "presheating" instead of "preheating". Thought I was hearing things.

Looks good, but shouldn't you just put the total time desired and turn over half way? This way the fryer does not shut off in between? That looked like a Top Sirloin Cap steak?

Never spray an oil onto a hot no stick surface. The oil will form a hard black film that will weld itself to the no stick surface. This alone will make cleaning the basket very hard even with lots of soaking prior to you sponging the welded on grease with a sponge. If you are stuck with such a buildup make a water and baking soda paste and scrub that into the fryer basket. Spray oil onto the food instead just before placing into the hot basket

Comparatively, it's awful. But I also reverse sear and just finish in cast iron
@tam123453 жыл бұрын
Guga actually tried this but he did something that gives the sear, he put a cast iron plate to heat in the air fryer first. I think doing that, should give you the sear your looking for. You can then flip it after 5 minutes, for a total of 10 mins to have both sides seared and to have a medium cook
