I am about 150 chaps into D gray man and I would recommend that as well. It's got a great cast, a really interesting story and an atmosphere that just bleeds mystery in pretty much every chapter. I love the strange way this series handles plot reveals, with us gaining new information that just leads to more questions and subtle clues placed throughout the story that answer and recontextualise older questions. I wouldn't recommend the anime as it screwed up the story a bit. I only saw the first 2 arcs but they definitely weren't good adaptations.

One more for the similar but different category, check out *Dandadan* if you haven't read it already, if you like UFO and Supernatural stuff, or you like 1 and dislike the other, this is the story for you. It has 2 main characters, one (the boy) believes in UFO and thinks Supernatural stuff doesn't exist, and the other one (the girl) believes in UFO stuff. So they challenge each other to go to rumored spots where there have been claims of UFO and Supernatural sightings, in order to prove each other wrong. They both quickly find out that yeah, both UFO and Supernatural beings exist and the story takes a unique turn. It's really good and the art is phenomenal.

Not listed but id also reccomend: 1- twin star exorcists(great fights and character variety, story is good, its kinda getting dragged rn but its still good and definitely almost done. Need more people on it) 2- fate as a whole(not even that I think jjk fans will like it, i just need to mention it for having great fight scenes in anime and great character depth, relations and worldbuilding in the visual novels and light novels) 3- To aru/A certain (not as battle oriented, but if you like jjk then you like engaging abilities and a tortured mc, so youd probably like a certain magical index, its also a great gateway into light novels) 4-Record of Rangnarok (Its all about the fights and drama surrounding armageddon, the gods relations, and Bruhildr and Sigfried, simple enough. But for this, read the manga, the anime doesnt look great) 5 - Magi (Great fights, great story, compelling characters. Hard to place into words, but youll understand when you watch it) 6- Fireforce (if fanservice bothers you alot, dont read/watch. But if it doesnt, it has a great story, great characters, and amazing fights and abilities.) 7- soul eater (see previous. But seriously, it sets itself up oddly, but enough to keep you hooked, and 1/3rd way in it becomes more battle shonen esque, its a bit older of a manga, but like the 3 older manga mentioned, its great.)
