The only thing this episode was missing was in the manga when Geto showed up before it revealed it was him it flashed the image of a much bigger and fiercer wolf with scars. It really illustrated the prey-predator-even bigger predator theme perfectly

Mahito's form in this episode was gained through an immense understanding of his own soul. In exchange for not being able to use Idle Transfiguration on most of his body(except his hands), he gained a massive boost in his physical and defensive abilities thanks to a binding vow. It's stated that this form is about 200 times tougher than his normal state. Yuji's hits that did so much damage before were suddenly having no impact on Mahito. It's stated in a little volume extra that if Yuji hadn't nailed Mahito with that last Black Flash, he would've been instantly torn to shreds. To me, one of the most interesting things about Mahito is how fast he grows. His potential. He's still essentially a child due to how young he is. Yet he managed to master Domain Expansion(something many sorcerers can never do), learned to transfigure himself more, found a counter to Simple Domain, used Black Flash, copied a very specific technique that GOJO of all people used on instinct by releasing his Domain for 0.2 seconds in order to counter Sukuna inside Yuji, told the King Of Curses to move aside, and discovered his true form thanks to realizing who he is. If he didn't have damage already accumulated in his soul or didn't have to worry about Sukuna being inside of Yuji, this wouldn't have even been a fight. Because he would've just used his more powerful soul techniques and just transfigured Yuji and then Todo. Mahito was the exact Curse that Sukuna said Jogo should've been. Someone who destroyed everything around him and lived only for himself and the torment of others. But in the end, Mahito's steps towards greatness were halted by a max power Black Flash straight to the soul. Centered on an unprotected part of his body. He managed to permanently cripple Todo and prevent him from using his technique ever again due to damaging his soul. And now, Geto has appeared before Mahito. Questioning if he will save him.

Todo got his left hand transfigured and he had to cut it off to not be damaged further and he clapped with mahito's hand and destroyed his remaining arm. Keep in mind idle transfiguration damaged the soul so it can't be healed, regardless even tho todo's career as a jujutsu sorcerer is done, he was a factor in taking down the curse that had the potential to grow to be sukuna/gojo level...heck even beyond that. Mahito truly had unlimited potential bro is only 6/7 months old and was this much of a problem.

Then through that logic Nobara shouldn't survive right?
@yorozuyanex562511 ай бұрын
@manuelvfc6254 obviously, but gege could find a loophole and bring her back...it's better for gege to let her be dead imo, as it worked perfectly for the story and bringing her back will be on some oda/hiro mashimo fake outs level xD

Without imparting any of my manga knowledge: The way Idle Transfiguration worked in Season 2 was extremely inconsistent. I get why Gege did it like this, because it's more fun to watch and nobody wants to see Todo die, but he absolutely should have. The technique either works or it doesn't, as seen with Nanami, who could shrug it off entirely once at least. The moment the technique works, it's over. Never before this was there a 'partial' transfiguration that you could stop by chopping off a limb or even survive. I found it a bit sad that he changed it around like that to make it more manageable, but it's not the worst, still very entertaining and the 'using Mahito's hand to clap' trick was an amazing result of it at least.

Not many know this but Todo's domain is "Delulu is Solulu" passed down to him from Tsukumo Yuki. In this technique Todo manifests a competely ridiculous delusion involving Itadori Yuji and/or Takada-chan. It is said that anyone who has faced this technique has always lost the battle.

Does the anime or manga ever mention this? I've mostly only watched the show and I've read parts of the manga (mostly recently because I didn't want to wait for episodes, so I read ahead a bit).

In the subway scene, if you look at Todo's "suspicious clap" what he let go and clap super fast. Mahito wasn't a cursed womb. What he did was trade his flexibility and change ability for a stronger, faster, solid body.

i actually love this fight. it's probably one of my favorites in anime because yes itadori won the physical fight against mahito but mahito won the ideological fight. itadori accepted it and proved mahito right.

a cool detail from the manga; fake geto is depicted as a larger and more dangerous wolf in yuji's walk-down scene

Some black flash clarification. It is essentially a frame perfect timing of your physical blow and cursed energy. It is too hard for anyone to actually land by skill, its purely a luck based thing. Think video game crit rate. Technically anyone can do one, although for more meta reasons, obviously its only going to come out at story appropriate times. But in theory pretty much any random hit from a sorcerer COULD be a black flash, which in most cases would pretty much end the fight instantly. It also forcibly puts you into a "the zone" for lack of a better term, as part of that you gain an instinctive understanding of your cursed energy/technique. During that time period you have a higher chance of landing more black flashes. Four black flashes in a row with no normal hits between them is the record set by Nanami, then later matched by Yuji. There is also some level of that understanding that sticks with you, and Todo states that there is a world of difference between the people that have at one point in their life landed a black flash, and those who don't. You almost always see some kind of step forward in ability after a black flash that sticks around even after that immediate fight.

I would guess Mahito is probably not even a year old yet. They have been such a problem as the “human” curse that if they were allowed to go on, they might become equal to Sukuna and Brain-kun someday. Seeing Itadori and Todo work together to overcome something like that is just super cool, and they both gave it their all. RIP Boogie Woogie.

I’m sorry, do y’all think Geto meant he was gonna SAVE save Mahito? The man with the ability to absorb cursed spirits? Remember: way back at the Mechamaru v Mahito fight, Geto seemed interested when it looked like Mahito might lose for a second. This was always the plan.
