@tmol2222 ай бұрын
@747heavyboeing3 Think there's a very small group of ppl who vote in artists. They don't like some groups, so those will probably, never, be in the hall. Not saying tony, telma and Joyce fall under that category, though. Then there's the argument of, they're not rock and roll, and the hall shouldn't be called what it's called because there's more than rock and roll artists in it. Whatever.

About 15 years ago my act and I were performing at the State fair. Tony Orlando was on later. I asked the stage manager some questions about Tony and he said why don’t you just meet him. I said, I don’t want to bother him. He took me into his area and I have never been so graciously welcomed by a genuine human being in all of my life-just a very sweet, sweet man. I stuck around to watch his performance later and I will say this, he obviously is a great singer but his stage presence and innate entertainment ability is beyond what I’ve ever seen. He is warm on and off stage. A true blessing.

🎤 My mom was the biggest Tony Orlando fan in the world back in the day. When he performed at the New Jersey casinos in the late 70's she had the opportunity to meet him. Tony Orlando could not have treated her any better. He hugged her, kissed her, posed for photos, he even gave her his "sweated up"🧣silk scarf 🧣 as a souvenir. To me, it will never matter what that man sounds like. Tony Orlando will always hold a special place in my thoughts and prayers because of the happiness he gave to my mother. 👨🎤

I saw Tony Orlando and Dawn with my parents as a 12-year-old at the Riviera Hotel in Vegas. I didn't get to meet him; however, I met some band members after the show. I always wanted to be a professional singer and I'll never forget the encouragement I received from them. They said, "Maybe, we'll see you here in Vegas performing one day!" Ten years later I joined the Atlanta Rhythm Section as their lead singer, and now sing on the strip in Las Vegas. Dreams to come true.

Wow ! How Tony Orlando and Dawn bring back such great memories for me. I had just turned 18 and heading for the USAF at Travis Air Force Base in northern California. His music, especially Tie A Yellow Ribbon were so heartfelt. Mr. Orlando; Thank you and your trio for being there for America. It meant and still means so much for all of us here in the U.S.A 😊

I used to sing to this song with my transistor radio. Dawn looks fantastic. Tony still has a voice…he was always so upbeat and his songs made you happy. God bless you Tony for making me happy in a world of chaos. Your music was sunshine!

I met Tony Orlando over 40 years ago. I went to the Jerry Lewis telethon in Secaucus where Tony hosted. I was a 20 year old kid. He treated me with respect and dignity. we spoke like neighbors. I still have an autographed ticket stub from him. I remember him ;like yesterday, God broke the mold after Tony. They don't make them like this anymore. A down to earth guy who actually cared about people and his fans. Still wiggle my shoulder's and neck to his music. THIS IS WHAT YOU CALL FEEL GOOD MUSIC!!

Saw them on TV in 1973. I was 13. When my medical friends went to Iraq we decorated the trees with yellow ribbons and sent pictures. Some never came home but ribbons helped families left behind. This song inspired it. Thank you❤❤

Grew up in Cleveland. Had this strange tree down in the middle of no where, had to swim through yucky water, climb through horrible weeds and prickly things and then would just appear out of no where the prettiest tree with thousands of yellow ribbons. It was breathtaking and how people climbed to a high as they did amazed me. Still hold the memory close to my heart
