G-Mod wasn't the origin of the big rooms maps, I think it was de_rats in some good old fashioned CSS and CS 1.6 baaaack in the day. In fact that was the map where Lewis was abusing doge hitbox a while back! Great maps all the same, love the theme and glad to see they keep coming up with new ones like this map and the lumber shop.

More people should claim to be the jester just for mind games. It works for everyone really. If innocents claim to be the jester, then terrorists might not shoot them. If terrorist claim to be the jester then the innocents might not shoot them. And if the jester claims to be the jester, both groups might think its a lie and shoot them.... in which case the jester wins. Its a win win win, and would be super fun to watch.

The map style originated from Counter Strike, I believe as far back as CS 1.6. They map mode was classified as a "Rat Map" or de_rats.

Levelord used to make a ton of these "tiny person in giant world" type maps for duke nukem in the 90s. used to see versions of them in quake & UT. My fav, and where these gmod maps seem to get a lot of inspiration from is the counter strike map de_rats and all its different versions.

I feel like Jester is now just another penalty for innocents (an ignored one at that). The fact that the jester no longer wins the round means that people no longer care about not rdming (usually traitors kill him anyways, thus he serves no purpose whatsoever). I liked when the jester won when traitors or innos killed him.

There were tons of maps like this for Counter-Strike: Source, which TTT is basically a game-mode of. I used to love to play on them, the one I recall best was a kitchen; in the microwave oven there was a "You Make Kitty Scared" image macro for some reason. The latest crop of TTT has been good, but is there any chance we could see some more prop hunt? Few things are as funny as three guys with automatic rifles trying to kill a coke bottle.

I reckon a good way of balancing the jester is upon death by a player, the jester should choose to kill any person who damaged them. When that person is killed, a death thing should pop up in the top right saying "player" died of guilt and their role would be revealed. This is very town of salem-y i know but it could work! This way the jester is neither good for innocents or traitors and they would be scared to RDM again without having the problem of the round ending.

Really fun game If I remember correctly you could get a power up or something that would make you giant for a bit and just wreck everyone
