I set mine up so I use the foot pedal all the time. Just like a sewing machine. That way when you are in Cruise Mode or Precise Mode, and using the stitch regulator, you can stop immediately. Just like Manual Mode, only with Stitches that are nicely regulated. Also, in Baste Mode, I set up the foot pedal so when I tap the back of the pedal, it brings the needle down. Great for pivoting the quilt. Thank you for great videos. Hope there are more!

Gigi, you know I’ve been debating on what longarm I want. Your demonstration on basting my quilt with that machine just made up my mind for me. A sit down machine fits my space and my style of quilting better than a machine on a stand up frame. I know for sure what machine I want and it will be my third Juki. THANK YOU!!

I’m so glad this was helpful. I didn’t show all 3 sizes of basting, but it’s pretty cool and it makes it so much easier. The sit down version is also more affordable than the stand up and allows the artist to have full control which I love. I can’t wait till you own #3!

Hello GiGi. I’m a first timer watching your channel. My friend is a seamstress and has 3 Juki DDL-8700’s. She just ordered another, and I put it together today. Everything went ok, except when I tilted it back…… there is no oil wick hanging down into the oil like the other three machines. Can you PLEASE help us figure out, how to get a wick and how to install it. Thank you so so much for any help you can give. Anthony

Hey Christopher, I would recommend contacting the dealer the machine was purchased from and asking for them to send out another wick. I personally have never seen this issue.

Would this work on a frame that is a queen size, bigger than 12ft? Also is it only for free motion quilting?

I noticed that your bobbin reads 0%, why would it read o% if your bobbin has thread in it

The bobbin counter is a manual stitch counter and we failed to plug that in when using it. :)
