I had new needle, the open toe foot and all the settings you recommended and i still had my thread breaking fairly often. wish i could figure out why

I use Tex 70 bonded nylon. I’m concerned because the upper tension has to be tightened almost to the max in tension to retain a lower proper stitch. If not I end up with loops on the underside of my project. What is concerning is the thread will ravel and break. Any suggestions? Oh yes, I sew vinyls and leather. Thank you. Phyllis

I had a Juki LU563 but had to let it go when downsizing. I got a Singer 6800c heavy duty computerized machine, which will sew most things, but still struggles in heavy vinyls and thick canvass layups and thick leather. Other than that, it is a joy to use. So, I got a REX semi industrial (similar but lower quality than a Sailrite) that offers straight and Zig Zag and with a 'Monster Balance Wheel' can sew dam near anything. The problem is, for anything where appearance is important, it is akin to doing brain surgery with a chain saw! Juki should look at Sailrite and create a straight/zig zag machine like that, but with Juki precision, built-in thread cutter, larger bobbin and built-in servo motor an led lamp, etc.. In other words, a powerful, full featured zig zag walking foot dream machine for home or small shop use. I'm sure they could sell millions of them!

What I really need are felling feet.

Do you need to put a netting on the spools while sewing to keep the tension just right

I do not have looping, however my stitch quality is bad. I don't have the little humps. The stitch looks like a straight line. I've done everything you have recommended. What else can I do? 12:56

I have industrial machines. Direct drive straight stitch. Industrial 4 thread overlock direct drive. Both have speed adjustment. But they don't have the versatility as the Juki NX7 OR UX8 OR NX7 I sew a lot of fine work. Thin fabrics which need slow speeds, and perfect stitches, expensive garments
