With Rory, you have to remember that out of all professions, he chose to be a nurse. At his soul, he is both compassionate and tough. If he sees someone in need, like Jennifer, he's softer with them.

One of the most jaw dropping cliffhangers ever. This was the first series which was aired in 2 parts. Episode 7 was the last episode in the spring and we had to wait until the autumn for the remaining eps.

The Doctor repeating lines from his previous regenerations was quite cool at the beginning. "One day we will get back yes one day" Said by the first Doctor when referring to when him and his granddaughter may return to Gallifrey 0.32 "I've reversed the polarity of the neutron flow" A line often said by the 3rd doctor <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="37">0:37</a> "Would you like a Jelly baby?" A line often used by the 4th doctor as he was always offering them. For this line they used a voice line from Tom baker <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="40">0:40</a> "I'm the Doctor" line from the 10th doctor when bragging about kissing madame de pompadour. They also use a voice line from David Tennant. Its followed by the Doctor saying 0.42 "No let it go we've moved on" which is supposed to be making fun of the 10th Doctor's final lines of "I don't wanna go" Also john smith is an alias he uses when he doesn't want to be called the Doctor like when he was the teacher Mr Smith in "School reunion" or when he was pretending to be human in "Human nature/Family of blood" This is the first time the 11th doctor has called himself John Smith.

In the 60s the Second Doctor was unconscious on a spaceship and his companion Jamie McCrimmon took him to a medical bay. He was asked for a name and saw the name “John Smith” on a piece of medical equipment nearby, quickly giving that as the Doctor’s name. The Doctor has used the name John Smith as a pseudonym ever since.

One other thing. Flesh Amy had real Amy’s consciousness. Amy was”wearing a ganger” like the aside mining crew was in the opening. So Amy perceived everything that was happening to flesh Amy. It was her speaking through the flesh avatar. Real Amy will remember everything that happened to flesh Amy. In the earlier episode the flesh became independent due to the solar storm. Rewatch the episodes and it will make more sense.

John Smith was a name given him by the 2nd doctor’s companion, Jamie McCrimmon. Jamie had to think quick and told people his name was John Smith. The doctor used it ever after, except the tenth doctor in “Tooth and Claw” who used the name “Doctor James McCrimmon” I really loved this two parter because it took a very deep moral look at things. The humans could discard “the flesh” because they didn’t consider them persons, but then slowly you find they are persons, some good, some bad. They didn’t ask to be made, but they were. Remember the cat nuns called the people they experimented on “flesh” because that way they didn’t have to regard them as persons. And the ending…wow. This episode really is troubling but for good reason makes you think.

I have been patiently waiting for the next episode, as it blew my mind. I consider the episode "A Good Man Goes to War" my second favorite Dr. Who episode, with the episode "Blink" just pipping it to top spot. The look on your face when The Doctor melted Amy was amazing😯 I wonder what it will take to make you so shocked again 🤔

I freaking love how the Doctor just has a good talk with himself, there is no fighting, no issues just 'let's have some fun and save the day while we do so'. Also little neat fact, Amy's been wearing the same plaid shirt every episode since the start of p2 of the impossible astronoght basically when they were on the run sometime during that she was taken off screen. Even when she puts on the pirate outfit you can in some scenes see her plaid shirt. Next weeks episode is going to be the best. No joke to this day I love the next episode (unless it's not posted next week because Christmas) I will wait however long it takes though if so.

This episode was definitely creepier than the last. And left on such a cliff-hanger! Although, I felt so bad for the real Jennifer, and all those discarded flesh bodies in that pile! 11 goes FULL 2nd/7th Doctor in this two-parter with his incredibly manipulative tactics. He tricks every single person in the room. The Doctor that screamed in Amy's face was the *real* one because he was purposefully manipulating her into believing he was the ganger so that he could continue carrying out his plan.

Amy has been a flesh avatar since the beginning of series 6. She was probably taken sometime when they were living on Earth, before they received the letter inviting them to America. The Doctor would never send a flesh avatar to go get shot on his behalf, though. Like he says, the flesh is alive.

Just about to start a two week shift in Accident and Emergency in an East London hospital. My choice as it gives colleagues with family more much needed time with them. this episode was fun but the reveal is so good the whole 2 parter I think 11 is telling Amy to breath its a weird recurring thing that doesn't make a lot of sense and then he whispers that last line to her before she leaves and then the reveal lands and it all makes sense. I also appreciate the "given what we've learned ill try to be as humane as possible" given he knows the flesh is alive and doesn't want to cause it unnecessary pain.

Now that's a heck of a twist ending! But why kidnap a pregnant Amy? What could they want with her or her child? I also love the reveal that the two Doctors switched shoes. It reinforces the idea that The Gangers are just as capable and worthy of being people as humans are (though of course they're also just as capable of being monsters as humans can be), and shows how foolish it is to be prejudiced. Amy was so certain in her belief that The Ganger Doctor was somehow different or inferior to the real one that she treated The original Doctor poorly! And when she learned the truth she understands that The Ganger Doctor is no less heroic and wonderful than her friend.

Amy became pregnant in the TARDIS on her honeymoon, shortly after the end of Series 5 (The Big Bang), and we first see the mysterious lady with the eye patch in the second episode of Series 6 (The Day of the Moon). So whatever happened to her must have happened sometime between the two-maybe during her honeymoon or soon after it. I don’t think anyone knows exactly when.

I think real Amy must have been taken back when they encountered Silence. Amy was kidnapped by them if you remember, so maybe they didn't actually find her, but the flesh.

The Doctor kind of has to accept the gangers as real people. If you think about it, each new regeneration changes the Doctor's personality, so each time he regenerates, he has even less in common with who he used to be than the gangers do with their original human.

So many twists in this second part and honestly when i first watched this episode it kinda blew my mind lol. My mouth was wide open by the end. Fantastic 2 parter and this is one of the few episodes where the second part i think is better than the first part The best twist is that the doctor amy trusted was the flesh and the one she didnt trust was real. I think thats a good twist too. Also the choice rory had to choose between two jennifers was cool too since they were both gangers. I think the biggest twist for me when they essentially say Amy was taken at some point and its why the tardis couldnt see if she was pregnant or not

This is another great example of which episodes not to show to your friends if they can't tolerate horrible cgi. 😅 BUT, I have to defend it in the writing and especially in the acting department. I never forgot about these performances. The acting really makes these episodes work (not talking about the little boy though at the end. 😅🙈 he works better in the German dub). The main girl always kinda reminded me of Zooey Deschanel. I'm currently watching 500 Days Of Summer for the first time....😔🤦‍♂️ But I most preferred her in her role in the Jim Carrey comedy "Yes Man".

the whole premise of the two parter is what makes you the “real” you and i feel like the answer the episode was supposed to be that your experiences and memories make you who you are and that the gangers were also the real people. but then right at the end the doctor reduces flesh amy to goo. what did this two parter actually have to say after that scene at the end? why humanise the gangers to the extent they. did if ganger amy doesn’t matter. when i originally watched this i though the two episodes had so much going for them philosophically speaking and the it just fumbles the theme right at the end for me.

I don't agree. I think his reasoning was that breaking the link was important in order to keep Amy aware and able to be located and unfortunately that led to death.
