When I was doing A Levels at her age, we were, very much, encouraged to read, at least, 5 different sources before arriving at an opinion. Xanty has enjoyed the benefits of affordable central heating all her life. I first enjoyed this when I was 23 years old. I could go back to being cold in every room in the house bar the room that held the fire. I don't think she would tolerate her bedroom being just above freezing point in winter. My friend went to see her grandparents the other night, when she arrived she thought they’d gone out, she entered the house to find them sat in there with no heating or lights on, and in their coats! I listened to this live on the radio and was impressed at how professional Julia Hartley-Brewer dealt with her. The caller came across as out of her depth and twice stated that she was only seventeen and didn't have the answers. She came across as insecure and neurotic. Julia gave her a pass and showed a lot of respect. Somebody is indoctrinating our youth into believing that the unattainable is achievable at a minute's notice. Such naivety shows a complete lack of social skills and awareness and probably a pampered upbringing.

I was told at school when I was fifteen that because of cars, the earth was going to heat up over the next ten years so the ocean would rise by three to ten feet. Suffolk and Norfolk would be under water, Florida and the Maldives would be gone! I am now 75 and nothing has changed over that sixty years. It gets hotter or colder, wetter or drying sometimes but we called it weather.

I am 40 years old. Climate change isn’t anything new. When I was 8, my teacher said that in 100 years, Dubrovnik and Venice would be completely under the water. This was 32 years ago, and if teacher was right, both of those towns should be 1/3 under the water, but Dubrovnik stays as it was before. Yes, Venice is sinking, because it’s build on oak planks that hold buildings…

Hi I completely agree with you. I'm 63 and I remember when I was at secondary school being told that the Maldives Isle would be lost and under water within 10 years when I was studying geography at the time.

Yep, same here. Almost 40 and I remember (as a 10-year-old) being scared to death when I first heard about Global Warming in a London Planetarium. But it hasn't happened! All the places that were supposed to be underwater by now - they're not! For God's sake, Al bloody Gore bought a beachfront villa in 2010, that was a huge red flag! And half of the 'climate science' is built on computer modelling, and we've seen how reliable that was during covid! And I was completely FOR green energy up until about 3 years ago!

I’m in my mid 50s and remember being taught as a child that we would be in an Ice Age at any moment and imagining being like a caveman, all dressed up head to foot in thick furs.

At primary school in 1995 aged 11 we were told Portsmouth would be underwater in 20 years. I’m 38 now and Portsmouth is still there. Poor Xanty is a brainwashed child and hopefully oneday she may grow out of it. Xanty has anxiety which is an anagram of Xanty 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I remember when I said to my mum when I was around 8 years old "mum the papers and everyone at school are saying it's the end of the world next week and I'm scared" mum replied " you don't need to be scared, it's the end of this world for thousands of people every day" that was 49 years ago! Kids all of this climate change is nonsense and is just a way to make money, that's all.

When arguing with my eldest daughter and granddaughter a few months back regarding global warming. I asked them when they visited Portsmouth, England a couple of years ago if it was the Venice of Hampshire, they both looked at each other and laughed. I then told them that when it is we have a problem as I had been told in the 70s that it would be flooded by now.

Just in the U.K much more than 500 years ago This country was completely under water under a tropical sea. just check out how the rock quarries all over the country were apparently formed. Blows man made climate change out of the water. (Pun intended) unless these climate activists are claiming other scientists have faked the science. The next thing just explain how we have a reasonable standard of living in an "environmentally friendly" way without any oil at all would be good.

@@oliviapiggott3690 for every ipcc funded scientist pushing man made climate change there should be a funded one to put a counter argument, this would ensure theories would be "stress tested" to make sure they were as accurate as the current research can give and as unbiased as possible, unfortunately pressure groups, backed interest groups, and governments would find that to constricting and so would never let that happen,

As a parent I am really angry that children, including mine are being fed this rhetoric. They don’t/can’t answer a question based on fact they can only repeat rhetoric. This girl was obviously being fed things to respond with, via her computer, rather than try and engage her brain. I am frightened for the future but not for the reasons she states.

It’s so sad a 17 years old is so scared about the future. I wish people could tell her that this climate scare mongering has been going on for years. Even when I was a teenager some 30 years ago we were all being told the planet was in crisis and the ozone layer was reducing. Turns out it’s repaired itself. Something which Experts have failed to acknowledge. Islands would be under water 30 years later I’m still waiting for all that to happen.

I remember seeing a headline when I was around this girl's age. The headline, on the Guardian front page, predicted Siberian winters for the UK by 2022. It was by the same institutions this girl has doubtless listened to. I have since experienced a Siberian winter and several British ones. The prediction, as if I needed to tell you, was way off.

I'm glad I've had these examples, right in front of our eyes to show my boys how some people will lie to manipulate - '3 weeks to flatten the curve' or 'the jab is 100% safe and effective' for example. Unfortunately, most people have encouraged their children to comply instead of opening their eyes and seeing what's in front of them. This poor girl is one of them - terrified by lies.

With all the KZbin documentaries exposing the hidden evil agendas of these international bodies e.g. IPCC, WHO UN, IMF, WEF, etc., I am disheartened to learn that most of our youngsters seem not to have watched said videos. In our weak old age, how can we start all over again to WAKE UP this deluded set of humans? I give up, after all, it's now their world.
