Just a thought but maybe they should have invited an actual climate scientist on? See this is the problem I have with GB News and their climate coverage, they invite these fringe, activist kids on who are operating largely on emotion and these more media savvy presenters expose the gaps in their knowledge to enforce their narrative that, "see, it's all green loonies who don't know what they're talking about". I don't mind a good debate but it's not as if there are no climate scientists or green energy specialists who couldn't adequately answer Mogg's questions. The solution to the wind not blowing or the sun not shining is a more expansive, pan-European green grid along with storage (battery, tidal, gravity etc.) and the use of SMR's (small modular reactors). Believe it or not, we will soon have solar panels which can generate power at night, using a process called radiative cooling. So there are answers to these questions but you do need to speak to somebody familiar with the industry to properly address them. Of course it's a lot easier to shake the curtains and talk about how the WHO is going to put us all in hobbit homes and make us eat bugs for tea.

That's true, about 50 to 60 million a year but, weather related deaths have dropped dramatically over the 100 years or so . . . because we have adorable energy to heat and cool our homes for nearly everyone on this planet! If want my ear for your cause you need to provide the hard evidence that CO2 drives the climate! I've been waiting for more than 50 years for it. I've lived through all of the erroneous predictions of the climate alarmist since the late 60s and not one of them has come true!

Luckily the British Antarctic Survey drew attention to the ozone holes which are still recovering! And it's thanks to Greenpeace stopping the cruelty of industrial whaling we still have oxygen in our oceans. There's a symbiotic relationship between whale excreta, krill and the phytoplankton that makes up to 70% of Earth's oxygen. Nothing like a nice bit of fresh air for the lungs! Unless we all get a grip and restore Earth's dying ecosystems we'll be just as toasted as the victims of previous mass extinctions. We deserve a Public Information Programme of Environmental Literacy which could have been delivered by Sir Patrick Vallance and Sir Chris Whitty at the same time as covid. Late though it is and carbon now at dangerous historic levels please ask your representatives for such a programme and to take seriously the well-being of everyone and everything you love and value. We should not be backing anachronistic Broadmoor policies of overconsumption or reliance on dirty energies, now gas-chambering our only home. We can all help and do our best to hang on to a habitable planet, before triggering disastrous global tipping points from which there is no return. I don't know about you but I like having shoes on my feet and a nice bit of lunch. Resource wars, starvation and mass migrations lie ahead unless we plan properly, helping each other to decarbonise at speed and scale, restoring the crippled natural world.
