I actually thought Sam seemed okay in his first message, coming on a bit strong, but it reads more like a guy who's just awkward in text and wanted to cover all bases upfront, trying to put on a facade more smooth than he actually is but still being honest. It wasn't a great message, but it was respectable, and as much as you can judge someone's character from such a first message, it did seem friendly. But then that second message... it honestly reads like he's trying to figure out if she'd be an easy victim for a serial killer; "do you live alone (or will a witness be close by), do you climb a lot (or is pacouring to escape me gonna be hard for you), I am craving for each bit of knowledge about you (so give me a detailed profile of your person while I am not revealing anything about myself so that I can construct the perfect plan here)". Like, jeez.

"CU and cheer up" the funny thing is that 'CU' could abso lutely be short for 'cheer up', so while I know it's a homophone for 'see you (l8r)', I initially read it as "cheer up and cheer up!" until Julia read it aloud.

Communication should be Number One, but all the other ones should also be tagged no question. Maybe you can drop 'true love' bc come on, and even if such a thing exists, you can't really algorhythmically discover it nor is it a helpful tool for judging a relationship. But the rest? That's basically "I look for a significant other who I can trust (honesty, fidelity), have good and open communication with (communication, social connection, openness), and who'll allow me to be me (acceptance, independance). I'd also like to be able to laugh at their jokes (humor, casual fun - unless that means sex)."
