I know this is a bit off topic from the game, but this is something that occasionally haunts me and I'm curious if I'm alone in this: Hi, I'm not much of a conspiracy theorist. But I have witnessed something that I believe happened and then was covered up and literally erased from record. I very distinctly remember watching video about riots and gunbattles on multiple us college campuses in 2008 and 2009. I remember it vividly because I was having a really good time hanging out with friends at that time. I recall being surprised by how serious and quickly it all happened. It felt to me like it came from nowhere, then all of a sudden there were news reports showing fully armed national guard and military soldiers invading about 16 different campuses (mostly east coast) all in the same week. I remember them talking about it having to do with some kind of white supremacy uprising, and that there were armed combatants on both sides. It was like an all out war for about two weeks, and then suddenly it didn't EXIST. I REMEMBER watching the news more at that time, looking for more information about it, to find out what was going on... And only a few days after it was going hot and heavy... Suddenly there was no news talking about it AT ALL. I thought it was strange. But I figured they were waiting for info, and would talk about it the next day... but days of silence turned into weeks and then months, and I forgot about it. But then I am reminded of it once in a while because it was such a disturbing situation to see. It was more warlike looking than the BLM riots, where it was occurring. But those battles were only contained to the colleges involved. I also remember that Obama and homeland security deployed and used communication weapons on some peaceful protesters that were upset about the whole thing. In fact, if I recall correctly, the last thing I heard about it was a new reporter showing video of a tank with a riot suppression communication weapon mounted on it... that was rolling into the area to disperse protesters. I remember him describing feeling vibrations in his body and his crew running for safety. And that was it. Then nothing for 11 years. Does this resonate with anyone else or ring any bells?

as that in-game article says, the slogan of the protest group, "the thoughts are free," is the translation of the title Die Gedanken sind frei, but what that article doesn't mention is that the song is fairly closely associated with its importance to resistance movements in Nazi Germany, which I think is an additional layer worth knowing
