First of all you went about this all wrong. Your end color came out great, but you're lucky you still have hair! Bleach should NEVER be left on longer than 45 minutes! For leaving it on for 90 minutes your lucky your hair didn't break off! Olaplex is not a magic wand and it will not do all that it claims to, especially when you abuse the products like that! Olaplex also diluted your lightener a level down so you basically lifted your hair with 10 vol instead of 20!

Hi Keira I appreciate your comments as well as your advice, but I did do my research with hair professionals before making this video and it is possible to use bleach for up to 60-90 minutes, as long as the individual knows what you're doing & depending on the quality of ones hair. You are right about how olaplaex is not a magic wand & that you shouldn't abuse products because it could damage your hair. I completely agree on that. But don't worry, I checked every couple of minutes on my hair thoroughly during the whole process so that it wasn't frying my hair. (:

Bleach actually times out at around 45 minutes. I'm a licensed cosmetologist here in the state of NJ. I'm glad you checked your hair, that was smart. But just be a little more conscientious when performing bleaching sessions. They can get ugly really fast! 😣

Ion collor brilliance has a GREAT dupe for Olaplex. It's at Sallys and has a step 1 and two. The step two also comes in a conditioner form which is AMAZING. And actually works. I literally hardly see a difference at all from before to after bleaching my hair. They also have a generic version for its a 10 products, and a generic shimmering lights purple shampoo.

Next time put a 1/4 ounce of Ola Plex inside your bleach. And then you have to up your developer by five volume to compensate for the product. Using the Ola Plex after the service is not stopping the damage Ola Plex, number one is for preventing, not repairing . Then step two Hass to stay on your hair for 10 minutes minimum and then thoroughly wash out
@DionneCollette
@DionneCollette 6 жыл бұрын
So you bleached your brown hair with 10vol developer (20vol with olaplex) and it turned that light in 1 go. Hmm don't by it. I'm sure you did it more than once.
@JULIAJVERIE
@JULIAJVERIE 6 жыл бұрын
DionneCollette 50% of my hair was bleached before! Only the top 50% part was virgin hair. (Hence the darker tone) My hair is really thin so bleach works really well in one go. I tried doing my friends hair and I had to do her hair 2.5 times so it really depends on each person.

still very yellow in patches in the end result as well. I kinda cringed with how you applied it onto your hair, too. but hey if you're happy with it by all means. but most of us don't like patches of yellow in our hair, so make sure you spread it evenly through out. would've been best to put the bleach on your roots first and for longer before applying to the rest because like you said your ends have been processed many times before and it was going to achieve a lighter color quicker, so after that point its just going to continue damaging and drying out your ends and possibly frying them off in the long run.

this is a little late but... When you use olaplex you want to use a developer level higher, so instead of 20 you could have gone with a 30 because the olaplex dilutes your developer down a level. 10 volume on bleach works pretty slowly, especially since it had to eat through your previous color, the longer you leave bleach on the more damage so the idea is to try and process it fairly quickly, obviously there will be equal damage either way (the longer you go vs the higher the developer) Also if you didn't know olaplex is an awesome stand alone treatment to repair your hair after any coloring. :]

I believe from what I read someone that the 050 lifts the yellow and t18 lifts orangey colour, which may be why hers was patchy and looked brown near the roots at back. I think if she would have used 050 and t18 together it wouldn’t have been patchy as the t18 would have dealt with the darker root area.

@@juliabrandon2482 it looked patchy and dark near the roots because her hair was already darker there after the bleaching. She said she had bleached the ends before, so they became a lot blonder a lot faster and that's how she got an uneven result.

Because either hairdresser don't want to do it at all or they charge over $300+ depending on how long your hair is. Also, not to mention I spent that much before and didn't get the results I wanted because I do have Asian hair and she was terrified to leave the bleach in my hair for a long time. I agree with her, if you keep an eye on it, every hair is different. I have to leave mine in for AT LEAST 1 hour to see couple levels of lifting. Everyone says 30-40 min.. yeah.. my hair would lift like 2 levels and just be damaged.

I've had clients try this and one of my girls actually had their hair melt because what was in the bottle was not actually olaplex. Please be careful when doing this. I would NEVER tell my clients to buy professional products off of Amazon or eBay. It's NOT professional! Hense why you need a license to get it.
