Developing a skill that you love. Great way to get out from the shackles of the past. Because you're completely invested in the present.

I love your podcasts, and for these with a specific number of suggestions, I think it would be soo helpful to relist the suggestions at the end. It would be a great reminder of all the points. Just a super quick list so it's fast. Thank you for all that you do! 🤗🙏

Here are the tweaks in short fashion for those of us who find lists useful: 1. Stop letting your past dictate your present and future. 2. Develop a skill that you are passionate about. 3. Let yourself be an imperfect being and cut yourself some slack. 4. Be mindful and intentional in how you respond. Respond clearly, kindly, and classy. 5. Get to know yourself better.

Gosh, you are good… really, really good! I’ve been struggling a lot with anxiety and depression these past couple of weeks; feeling tense, panicky and extremely gloomy… and listening to several of your videos has helped me breathe, shift my perspective to something more useful, and have more compassion for myself. Thank you so much for your comforting wisdom, and your kindness to share it in the first place 🤍

I struggle with keeping the past out of my thinking especially around people who have been around for a long time because it’s like a shield to protect myself with.

Yeah. That's fair. It's normal to not want to repeat a painful past. What would it be like for you to lead with what you want, instead of what you don't want?

I joined the Shift Society during the pandemic and life circumstances got in the way of being able to engage. Julia's videos got me through a really tough time. I'm doing much better now. I'm going to focus on developing my Art skills. I can't afford to join the society now, but from time to time I like to listen to a video that resonates with me. Thank you Julia!

"the past only exists in your mind", not in the case of trauma and similar, listening to past experiences may actually be in your best interest
@juliakristinamah Жыл бұрын
yes. Using past experiences to inform current decisions can be helpful - and often is. The problem shows up when our past is used to keep us stuck, instead of moving forward with new awareness and wisdom.

To stop letting the past define me. This has been a habit that has kept me feeling stuck throughout the years. When I make a positive shift within myself, that old part of my subconscious likes to express resistance and tell me that I can't grow and progress. And then my new self responds with 'this is not too good to be true!'

Hello my name is Crystal. I just realized that I have low self esteem and very little confidence. I was at an event this past weekend and during it I felt myself shut down and I don’t know why. The only thing I could think of was low self esteem and confidence.

Being imperfect is one I want to work on. I also would add even if we achieved perfection on one thing, we will focus on another and forget about the thing that we initially find perfect. Perfection is not real, it is just made up.
