I am happy to hear the news with your different perspectives from different newspapers. Useful vocabulary with other meanings, always happy to keep learning thanks to you BBC good teachers. By the way, I'm also happy about Julian Assange being released, but I hope that freedom of press might not be terribly affected, but unfortunately it appeared that there wasn't any other way to free him at last!

Thank you so much for bringing up this news. I wanted to learn about it.🙏 I wonder why the US struck the deal with Assange. Is that because the US wanted him to be seen as a criminal by the public, rather than a hero, by having him plead guilty to a single charge in exchange for freedom? I'm relieved that he seems to be free now that he's back in his home country of Australia. Neil's example sentence brought back a childhood memory. 🙂 I remember striking a deal with my dad to tidy my room in return for a bit of money. He promised to give me a tiny bit of money every time I cleaned up my room, but I only received that reward two or three times, and he soon forgot about the deal or promise itself. ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー ●twists and turns I like watching a KZbinr's channel because his life is like a roller coaster ride, full of twists and turns that I never see coming. I don't know what the future holds for him. There will be even more twists and turns that await him from here forward. The Netflix series "The Queen's Gambit" was really arresting and captivating. The series had so many twists and turns that I couldn't predict the ending. ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー ●strike a deal Mediated by Belarus, Yevgeny Prigozhin supposedly struck a deal with Kremlin in the midst of his rebellion in June 2023. He was exiled, but in a matter of a couple of months, he passed away due to an airplane crash on 23 August 2023. ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー ●dumps My iPhone storage is nearly full, thanks to the photo dumps of hundreds of pictures.

Dear friends Beth and Neil, fortunately it is much less complicated to explain the elaborate newspaper headlines than to explain why an Australian citizen was imprisoned in a maximum security prison in London for 5 years, without any conviction, just because the US government so wanted. Before that, despite being a political asylum seeker, he did not receive safe passage to leave the country. What kind of justice do you have there? Just wondering...
