amazing song i enlisted because my family has been serving since the war of 1812, i lost my great grandfather on juno beach, i have lost friends in Afghanistan, and i have lost a very dear friend and mentor who i deployed with in 2019, i still carry the pain of no longer being able to talk to them again and i miss them all very much, i have been serving for nearly 7 years and i am proud of my service, and i have been asked why i joined and i tell them every time, i joined so i could protect those that can't protect themselves, and because i felt it was my duty to serve Canada after everything this great country has given me i felt i should give back so others can enjoy the safety i grew up with. Lest we forget our fallen brothers and sisters

She's still a bugger today to get through that song more so ever since that night we found out Captain Nichola Goddard was killed in action and only possibly 10 hours after doing a private show in KAF up at their infamous Bat Tent. Most important days and times of my life over anything I had ever accomplished in my musical career, that was my pinochle and I had arrived finally moment going over to rock the house for all the boys and girls. As my brothers Gord Maidment and Tim McNeil say "AIRBORNE". I'd be there again anytime, anyplace, anywhere for our Unsung Heroes

On September 28, 2007 the City of Saint John hosted the "Red Friday Rally" to show support for our Troops. On this wet rainy day, Saint John's own Julian Austin performed amongst a sea of red supporters, his own tribute to our brave men and women who have served or are currently serving our country - this song had many who attended in tears. Thanks Julian!!

Many of the Allied soldiers who died face down in the mud during the Normandy invasion were only 18 years old. Can you imagine what it must be like? To know that you are only 18, that you are dying, that you will never see home or family again? Let us remember their sacrifice that we might be free of tyranny, and resolve that they shall not have died in vain.
