Professor Julian Jacobson performs Debussy, "Les Sons et Les Parfums tournent dans l'air du soir", from Préludes, Book 1. This recording was made live at a recital of the complete Book 1 by Julian at Grand Passion Pianos on 22 February 2024.
For this performance, Julian chose to play an 1896 Pleyel modèle D grand piano. The instrument has been fully rebuilt by Grand Passion Pianos to its original specification.
This piano exemplifies the typical Pleyel bright yet dark tone with silvery treble and legible bass.
