Somewhere Mr Collins is smiling his ass off. Totally appreciate the time it took for Julian and Chris to record this, the people filming, editing and then uploading this so we can watch this and enjoy this musical morsel! Thanks

I was lucky enough to see them live last week. Easily one of the best concerts of my life. They're both such incredible musicians, and their chemistry and appreciation of each other is a joy to watch.

I've seen them twice now and had exactly the same reaction.

These Collings guitars, both the OM played by Julian and the D-1A played by Chris look like the "new" T Series with the vintage satin finish. They sound incredible in the hands of these two.

the best sounding acoustic guitars on earth!!

The strain around Julian's eyes are likely reflective of the years of cumulative practice, the unfettered passion for his craft, and the intense transcendence this man experiences upon picking up the guitar. Watch close. Geniuses are fleeting.

Wow, that OM (or 000) sounds fantastic - both guitars do, but that one really pokes out. Such great playing from both guys.

Is Chris essentially playing a custom dreadnought version of Julian's guitar??
@CollingsGuitars7 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's a custom D1 A T built for Chris that share's some of the features of the OM1 JL. Thanks!
@johnm83356 жыл бұрын
Be nice if the Eldridge D1A T Custom was available to purchase. Satin finish, relic tuners, ultra wide grain top, light weight build like the JL and old logo. People would buy them! Are you reading this Collings Guitars?

Julian's guitar sounds way bigger than Chris's, which is strange since it is actually smaller. Not sure if it is the guitar itself, their playing styles or the mic placement relative to the guitars. Hard to tell. Beautiful playing though.
@philiprundall34327 жыл бұрын
Of course Julian's OM1JL has had a chance to really open up over months of playing whereas Chris's is very new.
@esiegel25 жыл бұрын
I noticed that as well, I think it is the way he is picking. Chris is the finest acoustic rhythm guitar player I know of, and even when he is playing single notes, he still has a lighter way of picking. Or it could be the mic setup or the guitars, but I think it is just their touch

Only Collings and these 2 can make brand new guitars sound like 1939 vintage Martins The scary thing is: this is the worst these guitars will ever sound like; they're only going to get better and open up more as they're played!
